* 91 Punkte Robert Parker THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Complex aromas of truffle, blackberry and flowers follow through to a full body, with supersilky tannins and a long, polished, caressing finish. Superrefined and pretty. Needs plenty of time in the bottle to come around. Best after 2015." |

Robert Parker: "... the 2004 Clos de l’Oratoire is an outstanding wine. A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, it is extremely well-endowed for the vintage. A deep ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of espresso roast, chocolate, dried herbs, and plenty of sexy black currant and cherry fruit. Medium to full-bodied with silky tannin as well as an expressive, sensual style, it should drink beautifully for 10-12 years."
Winespectator: "Very pretty aromas of crushed blackberry and raspberry, with flowers. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a mineral, chocolate and tea aftertaste. Complex and subtle. Better than the 2003." |

* 94 Punkte Robert Parker THE WINE ADVOCATE: "This is one of St-Emilion's foothill (pieds de cotes) vineyards planted with 90% Merlot and equal parts Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vinification is classic Stephan von Neipperg and Stephane Derenoncourt. Undoubtedly the finest effort this property has yet produced, the black-colored 2000 offers up sexy notes of espresso, chocolate, Asian spices, black cherry liqueur, and blackberries. Opulent, chewy, and powerful, this deep, full-bodied wine has layers of ripe fruit, huge power, yet a classic, well-delineated style. A brilliant wine. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2019."
* 92 Punkte WINESPECTATOR: "Subtle, yet rich. Refined, yet powerful. Full-bodied, with super silky tannins, yet it's elegant and caressing. Joy to taste. Fantastic l'Oratoire. From the same people who bring you La Mondotte and Canon-La Gaffelière. Best after 2010." |

Robert Parker The Wine Advocate: "An impressive wine, this sleeper of the vintage has an opaque deep ruby/purple color, a jammy nose of super-ripe fruit and oak, as well as a full-bodied, intensely flavored taste. This big wine should develop more finesse and age gracefully for 10-15 years." |
