Geht es um die Architektur, liegt bei den beiden Pichon-Longueville der Baron vorne. Jeder Vorbeifahrende ist beeindruckt von der Architektur dieses anmutigen Chateau. Doch wer macht den besseren Wein der beiden Nachbarn? Eine hochinteressante Frage, die immer ein gutes Probenthema ergibt. Tatsache ist, dass sich beide Chateaux ein Kopf an Kopf Rennen liefern. Nur auf der anderen Straßenseite gelegen, können sich beide durchs Fenster in die Augen sehen. Beide Weine sind jedoch nicht vergleichbar. Der Longueville Baron ist mit 60% Cabernet, 35% Merlot und 4% Cabernet Franc und 1% Petit Verdot zwar im Blend ähnlich der Comtesse, der Wein ist aber analog dem Namen in den meisten Jahrgängen der maskulinere, Pauillac-typischere Wein. Zum AXA Konzern gehörend, werden die Weine unter der Regie des gleichen technischen Direktors wie auf Chateau Lynch Bages bereitet. |
