Das Assortment besteht aus je einer Flasche Madrona, Howell Mountain, Thorevilos und Cappella. Cabernet Sauvignon Madrona Ranch 98+ ANTONIO GALLONI: "Abreu´s 2010 Madrona Ranch dazzles with its intensity and extraordinary overall balance. Menthol, new leather, tobacco, cedar and earthy notes are all backed up by serious power. The 2010 is explosive on the palate -as so many 2010s are - yet the tannins are remarkably polished for a young wine with this much structure. A creamy, deeply resonant finish rounds things out in this stunning red from Madrona Ranch. The blend is 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot and 6% Merlot." 98 THE WINEADVOCATE: "The 2010 Madrona Ranch, which David Abreu told me he crop-thinned by at least 50%, is a more backward, tannic, brooding wine at present. An inky/purple color and lots of baking spice, espresso, black and blue fruits, and hints of graphite and toast emerge from this wine as well as formidable tannins in the finish. However, the tannins are sweet and well-integrated in this big, blockbuster effort. It will require patience by purchasers as it needs to be forgotten for 4-5 years- it will drink well over the following three decades." Drink: 2017 - 2043. Alkoholgehalt 14,5% Vol. Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain 100 ANTONIO GALLONI: "The 2010 Howell Mountain is simply magnificent. Inky, deep, and full-bodied to the core, the 2010 blasts out of the glass with graphite, pencil shavings, menthol, melted road tar, plum, cassis and licorice notes. The 2010 is an exciting, viscerally thrilling wine that takes hold of the sense and never lets up. Today, it is firing on all cylidners. The Howell Mountain is the only Abreu wine that incorporates Malbec, a variety that seems to work magic here. The 2010 is 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot, 8% Malbec and 5% Merlot." Alkoholgehalt 14,5% Vol. Cabernet Sauvignon Thorevilos 98+ ANTONIO GALLONI: "David Abreu´s 2010 Thorevilos stands apart from all of the other wines in this range for its massive, inky concentration. It is also the last of these wines to be released, which may explain its intense power. A host of graphite, smoke, incense, tobacco, spice and black fruit gradually open up, but the 2010 is a wine for the future. I won´t touch another bottle until at least age ten, even though that is almost certainly not going to be enough time to find the wine at its peak of expression." 97 THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Inky, intense, full bodied, incredible richness and intensity of flavor create a mouth filling blast of licorice, blackberry, smoke, espresso and jam. The wine coats your mouth and stains your teeth with fruit and extract." Alkoholgehalt 14,5% Vol. Cappella Proprietary Red 97-99 ANTONIO GALLONI: "The 2010 Cappella impresses for its depth and complexity. A higher-toned register replete with white floral notes adds considerable refinement. Blackberries, cassis, spices and dark fruit are some of the notes that take shape in the glass. The 2010 is articulate and beautifully defined from the taste. A last blast of fruit saturates the palate on the finish. This is a hugely promising wine from David Abreu and Brad Grimes." 98 THE WINEADVOCATE: "The 2010 Cappella, ( 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot) reveals a dense purple color, and even greater aromatic and flavor dimensions than the 2009. Notes of sweet creme de cassis, coffee bean, graphite, white chocolate and forest floor are followed by an intense, full-bodied, luxuriously textured wine that has plenty of tannin, but it is sweet and enrobed by sumptuous fruit and glycerin. This fabulous 2010 is one of the superstars of the vintage. It should continue to evolve for 25-30 years." Drink: 2013 - 2043. - Robert M. Parker, Jr. Alkoholgehalt 14,5% Vol.
