DECANTER: "This is a Pomerol pretender as many of the best Lalandes are with polished coffee beans and chocolate to round out the berry fruits. There’s a touch of reduction on first nose but that clears quickly - a good reflection of the winemaking style on the lees. This is one of the estates to watch in Pomerol, with a new team in place since 2016, overseeing the ageing and bottling of this but not the growing season (it was Silvio Denz in 2015). Drinking Window 2019 - 2034"

JAMES SUCKLING: "A full-bodied, tight and focused red with plum and chocolate character. Hints of vanilla. Medium to full body, round and juicy tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink or hold."

WEINWISSER: "Tiefes Purpur, satt in der Mitte. Spontan zugängliches Bouquet, gekochte Pflaumen, Teenoten, angenehme Intensität. Im Gaumen mit mittlerem Körper, rotpflaumiges Extrakt, passendes Finale. Sanfte Vinifikation, die zum Jahrgang passt und bei der nicht die Grenzen ausgelotet wurden. Ein guter Gastro-Wein, der frühen Konsumspass bieten wird."

WINE ENTHUSIAST: "From the first vintage aged in a new cellar, thsi wine is precise, dense and full-bodied wine. Rich black-currant and black-plum flavors contrast with the wine's young structure and acidity. It will age well and should be drunk from 2022."

JEB DUNNUCK: "The 2015 Château de Chambrun is a Merlot-dominated cuvee that includes a splash of Cabernet Franc and was bottled unfined and unfiltered. It possesses lots of plum fruits, roasted herbs, jus de viande (aka au jus or the juices given off by meat as it’s cooked), and black licorice characteristics in a ripe, hedonistic, pedal-to-the-metal style that drinks well above its humble price point. Drink it anytime over the coming decade."

WINE SPECTATOR: WINESPECTATOR: “Velvety layers of crushed plum, fig and boysenberry fruit glide through, inlaid with subtle anise and singed alder notes. Shows a pretty tobacco echo through the fine-grained finish. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2021."
