Chateau Latour
Chateau Latour - Pauillac de Latour 2008
* 88-90 Robert Parker THE WINE ADVOCATE: "The introductory cuvee, the 2008 Pauillac, is a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 55% Merlot. Another offering with a surprisingly lofty alcohol content for Bordeaux (13.5%), it is a smooth, fruit-driven Pauillac exhibiting plenty of black fruit, cedar, and fruitcake characteristics in a medium-bodied, lush, exuberant style. It should drink nicely for 5-7 years. Yields at this estate were among the lowest of the last 20 years, averaging 39 hectoliters per hectare."
* 86-89 WINESPECTATOR: "Displays currant and berry notes, with mineral and flowers. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a clean finish."
* 16 (***) DECANTER: "Deep plummy red, fragrant blackcurrant fruit, fresh and crunchy/jammy with good oak and a little firmness, will show well. Drink 2013-17."
* 87-88 QUARIN: "This is a wine that is built around softness and suavity, without lacking in body presence. It offers plenty of taste on the palate and suave tannins on finish, which surprises me very favorably. Good length."
* 16,5 JANCIS ROBINSON: "Drink 2010-16 ; Deep crimson with a purple tinge. The only blend that might change very slightly – maybe add a little bit more press wine or something. Really rather seductive nose. You could almost drink this now! Very polished and rich and zesty. Pretty clever. Hint of malt that softens it. Then scrunched up on the finish. Clean and neat. Lots of Merlot."
