The company founded in 1967 in Grossaspach, Baden-Württemberg, by Hans-Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher celebrated its 50-year anniversary in 2017. Tradition meets innovation – the RIEDEL company is proud to look back on more than 260 years of success. From its beginnings in northern Bohemia, right through to today’s 11th generation, RIEDEL GLASS stands for the highest art of glassmaking. The family tree stems from Johann Christoph Riedel and leads in a direct line through many generations, right up to Georg J. Riedel and his son Maximilian J. Riedel. Every family member in this very long chain had their own personal skills and opinions and made the company the success it is today. After moving from Bohemia to Austria in 1955, the Riedels set themselves up in Kufstein, Austria. In 2004, Riedel bought the company “Nachtmann AG” with the brand “Nachtmann & Spiegelau”, making it one of the biggest crystal glass producers worldwide. 

Gaggenau stands for exclusive cooking culture, trend-setting design and high-class workmanship. With a success story spanning 333 years, the company has developed into a manufacturer of high-quality home appliances since initially being founded as a blacksmiths in Germany’s Black Forest. Whether cooking, ventilation, cooling or wine storage – the installation devices are oriented around professional kitchen technology.
