Jeb Dunnuck: "Blackcurrants, blue fruits, crushed stone, chocolate, and massive amounts of minerality all emerge from the 2022 Château Pavie Macquin, a more burly, incredibly concentrated Pavie Macquin that has a lively, vibrant mouthfeel, ripe, building, substantial tannins, and a gorgeous finish. Based on the normal 80% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon, it's a riveting, powerful 2022 that's built for the cellar. Hide bottles for a solid decade if you can, and it will have 40 years of overall longevity."

James Suckling: "Aromas of blueberries and blackberries with walnuts and hints of tar that follow through to a medium to full body with plush and velvety tannins and a lovely, caressing mouthfeel. It closes up at the end. Extremely long, pure and structured. Classic 72% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot and 2% petit verdot. From organically grown grapes. Give this at least until after 2030 to open and come around."

James Suckling: "Very complex aromas of pears, persimmons, honey and cooked apples. Mineral undertones. Always subtle and multidimensional. Full-bodied with a tight and dense middle palate that gives a superb mouthfeel. It's lively and flavorful at the end but in a reserved way. Just a hint of bitter lemon and lilac. I really want to drink this, but give it three or four years to reach the right place."

Jeb Dunnuck: "Blackcurrants, graphite, crushed stone, and liquid violet notes all emerge from the 2022 Château Saint-Pierre (Saint-Julien), another deeply colored, powerful, full-bodied Saint-Julien. Coming from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it has a layered, elegant mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and a great finish. It's going to stand with the truly greats from not only this terroir but the entire Médoc."

James Suckling: "What fantastic aromas of dark fruits. At the same time, there’s a savory character of mushrooms, lead pencil, violets, bark and wet earth that always remains complex and sophisticated. It's medium- to full-bodied with very tight and fine tannins that run the full length of the wine. Wonderful polish and refinement. Classy. A bottle for your cellar. 50% cabernet franc, 45% merlot and 5% cabernet sauvignon. Best after 2030."

Jeb Dunnuck: "The second wine of both Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion, the 2022 La Clarte De Haut-Brion Blanc checks in as a blend of 53.7% Sauvignon and 46.3% Sémillon brought up in barrel. Grilled citrus, white flowers, and a beautiful sense of stony minerality all emerge from this beauty, and it's medium-bodied, has a fresh, focused, yet concentrated mouthfeel, as well as bright acidity. It's rich and textured, yet remarkably fresh and focused. This hit 14% with a pH of 3.29. It’s great today and will be great in 8-10 years as well."

Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2022 Château Valandraud is sensational, offering a massive array of blackcurrants, chocolate, smoked tobacco, baking spices, and truffly earth. Full-bodied and deeply layered, it has a velvety mouthfeel, polished tannins, and remarkable purity. It reminds me of a hypothetical blend of the 2020 and 2019. Based on 85% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, it was vinified and aged 22 months in new barrels. It will evolve gracefully for 20-30 years."

Weinwisser: "92 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 6 % Merlot, 2 % Cabernet Franc, 14.5 Vol.-%, 40 % Grand Vin. Tiefgründiges blaubeeriges Bouquet, Flieder- und Veilchenparfüm, dahinter erkalteter Earl-Grey-Tee, schwarzer tasmanischer Bergpfeffer und Holundergelee. Am sublimen Gaumen mit seidiger Textur, tänzerischer Rasse, die unglaublichen Halt und Straffheit verleiht, tiefschürfender Mineralik und muskulösem Körper. Im konzentrierten, nicht enden wollenden Finale Wildkirsche, dunkles Edelholz – lebt von seiner Finesse, eine Delikatesse mit royaler Adstringenz. Wird in seiner perfekten Trinkreife die Höchstnote erreichen. „Es ist kein Petit Verdot im Blend, da genügend Konzentration vorhanden" fasst Direktor Philippe Bascaules zusammen. Setzt sich dieses Jahr zu Recht die Krone in der Appellation Margaux auf!"

James Suckling: "Lots of dried apple, pineapple, heather and seashell aromas with green pine needles. Full-bodied and dense with focused, layered fruit. Persistent and zesty. Oyster aftertaste. Drinkable now, but even better in three or four years."

James Suckling: "Intense aromas of apples, green tea leaf oil and cooked apple. Full-bodied yet so reserved and intense, with a tight palate and a long, long finish. The concentration is phenomenal, but it’s framed by near perfect phenolics. Tightly wound and weightless. So spicy at the end. Reminiscent of Montrachet. Grand cru quality. Goes on for minutes. This is fantastic now to understand it’s potential but will be even better in years to come."

James Suckling: "There’s so much sliced lime and green apple with hints of toasted oak and salt water taffy. Full-bodied with a solid texture and well-integrated phenolics that give such great length and focus. Fluid and so attractive on the palate. A Corton Charlemagne clone. Delicious now, but will show more complexity with age."

The Wine Advocate: "The Powder House site is on Goldridge soils, planted in 2013. The tightly spaced Hyde Old Wente and Mount Eden selections have been dry farmed the past few years, according to Aubert. The 2022 Chardonnay Powder House features attractive notions of crushed stone, citrus oil, hints of tea and perhaps even bergamot. Medium to full-bodied, with great thrust and energy, this is zesty, clean and crisp, with terrific length."

James Suckling: "Purity of fruit, with dried apple skin, sliced pears, heather and lemon blossoms. Full-bodied, but it’s so textural with phenolics that spread across the palate and go on for minutes. Flint. Dense and very long. A wonderful expression of the essence of great chardonnay. Drinkable now but even better in three or four years and beyond."

The Wine Advocate: "Always one of the last sites Aubert picks, the 2022 Chardonnay CIX Estate matured in close to 75% new French oak. Hints of crushed stone accent ripe, lush notes of white peaches and pineapple. This full-bodied, opulent wine seems a bit lower in acidity than usual, but it still finishes crisp and long, with a delicate hint of mocha on the finish."

The Wine Advocate: "The bottled 2022 Pingus is quite dark and feels ripe, powerful and a little shy, coming through as serious. It has notes of ripe peach, dark berries and notions of soil. It was vinified with 25% full clusters. It has ripeness and concentration and is powerful, serious, quite tannic, chalky and slightly dusty, with a dry finish. Since 2012, they have used 100% barrels that have had Flor de Pingus (and perhaps PSI) for 12 months, and for Sisseck, maybe that makes the wine a little more reserved, more closed; and if it had a small percentage of new barrels, it would probably be more open and expressive. It's very long and has very fine tannins. Around 8,000 bottles were filled in early July 2024."

Chardonnay Mount Veeder 2022 Dieser beeindruckende Weißwein offenbart eine faszinierende Aromenwelt, die von saftigen Birnen, goldenen Äpfeln und weißen Pfirsichen dominiert wird. Am Gaumen entfaltet sich ein elegantes Wechselspiel von Zitrusfrüchten, wobei besonders Meyer-Zitrone und Mandarinenschale hervorstechen, untermalt von feinen Gewürznoten wie Kardamom und einer dezenten Meeresbrise. Die blockierte malolaktische Gärung verleiht dem Wein eine bemerkenswerte Frische und Lebendigkeit, während subtile Nuancen von Honigblüten, Mandeln und aromatischen Kräutern wie Estragon für zusätzliche Komplexität sorgen. Ein außergewöhnlicher Chardonnay mit seidiger Textur und beeindruckender Länge, dessen natürliche Intensität durch die hochgelegenen Weinberge (550-640 m) perfekt zur Geltung kommt.

„Wunderschön frische Nase mit Zitrus, grünem Apfel, mineralischen Noten und weißem Pfirsich. Am Gaumen ein Ausbund an Trinkfreude, weich, mit sahnig eingerührter Viskosität, dabei feinherb abgeschmeckt mit Granny Smith, Birne, Limette, getragen von einem elegant, komplexen Säurespiel. Sehr saftig, seidig, mit tiefen Kalk-Terroirnoten und dann wieder diese schöne Säure im Zusammenspiel mit der Frucht. Im Finale angenehme Salzigkeit und lange anhaltende Chardonnay-Aromatik. Das ist ein super Premier Cru Chablis.“ Der Chablis Premier Cru Vau de Vey „La Grande Chaume“ stammt aus einer 0,48 Hektar großen, südöstlich exponierten Parzelle am linken Ufer des Serein mit bis zu 50 % Hangneigung. Der flachgründige Boden besteht aus Kolluvium über Portland- und kimmeridgischen Kalk- und Mergelgesteinen mit fossilen Austern. Die zwischen 1980 und 1985 gepflanzten Reben werden manuell bewirtschaftet, mit Guyot-Schnitt nach saftstromschonenden Prinzipien und durchschnittlichen Erträgen von 45 hl/ha. Die Vinifikation umfasst Handlese, Ganztraubenpressung, spontane Gärung, Ausbau in 228-Liter-Fässern über rund 21 Monate sowie eine unfiltrierte Abfüllung im Mai 2024.

Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru 2022 Ein grandioser Wein, der durch seine beeindruckende Intensität besticht. Die Aromen von Maulbeere, Pflaume und Kirsche vereinen sich mit zarten Veilchennoten und feinwürzigen Anklängen. Am Gaumen präsentiert sich dieser erlesene Grand Cru mit beachtlicher Dichte, seidiger Eleganz und kraftvoller Struktur. Trotz seiner Jugend offenbart sich bereits eine beeindruckende Harmonie, während der straffe Tanningerüst von großer Qualität zeugt. Der lange, detailreiche Abgang vervollständigt dieses außergewöhnliche Geschmackserlebnis. Die vierte Ernte unter zertifiziert biologischer Bewirtschaftung zeigt sich in einem Wein von bemerkenswerter Tiefe und Spannung.
