A vintage with one of the highest percentages of cabernet sauvignon ever. Quintessential, great Bordeaux with no limits. Drink after 2028."

The Wine Advocate: "From barrel, I wrote that 2022 Montrose was so compelling that assigning it a bracketed score seemed a mere formality, and so it has proven. Unwinding in the glass with a deep and brooding bouquet of cassis, wild blueberries, violets, pencil shavings and burning embers, it's full-bodied, deep and dense, somehow marrying all the tannic authority that has long been such a signature of Montrose with a suavity and purity that represents the quintessence of contemporary Bordeaux. The broad, palate-staining finish lasts for more than a minute. This is a profound young wine that readers aren't going to want to miss."

James Suckling: "Opulent and delicious with lots of green mango and pineapple aromas and flavors. Smoked cream and green apples. Showing salty, briny character, it’s dense but not heavy, flavorful and very long. Pear-drop candy at the end. Pure sauvignon blanc, as always. Rich yet lively and wonderful. Feels like a great Montrachet. One for the cellar. 8,000 bottles made. You just want to drink it. Drink or hold."

Brambled autumnal fruits with a kiss of cloves, turmeric and baking spice reflecting the ripeness achieved within the vintage, harnessed to a sense of reserve and a foot on the break in the opulence of the vintage. Jeb Dunnuck: "Looking at the Grand Vin, the 2022 Château Pavie is 52% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 18% Cabernet Sauvignon raised in 75% new barrels for 20 months. It brings a more focused, precise style in its darker berries, graphite, crushed stone, and floral aromatics and flavors. These carry to a full-bodied Pavie with flawless overall balance, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. This pure, powerful, yet aristocratic Pavie will benefit from 7-8 years (you can drink it even today) and have 3-4 decades of longevity."

Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2022 Château Tertre Rôteboeuf is gorgeous, and it has more than a passing resemblance to the 2010 (or is it the 2009?). Classic notes of black raspberries, sweet cassis, white chocolate, leafy tobacco, and spicy wood all shine here, and it's full-bodied on the palate, with flawless overall balance, ultra-fine tannins, and a finish that makes you salivate and keeps you coming back to the glass. It has the fruit to offer remarkable pleasure even today yet deserves 8-10 years of bottle age and will pretty much blow you away over the following 20-30 years."

Falstaff: "Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, tintig, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zartte Randaufhellung. Feine Edelholzwürze, vollreife Herzkirschen, Schokolade, tabakig, zarte Kräuterwürze. Kraftvoll, elegant, rotbeerige Nuancen, präsente, eingebundene Tannine, salzig-mineralisch im Abgang, Nugat im Nachhall, zeigt Länge und Entwicklungspotenzial, eine Kombination aus Power und Finesse."

Jeb Dunnuck: "Blackcurrants, blue fruits, crushed stone, chocolate, and massive amounts of minerality all emerge from the 2022 Château Pavie Macquin, a more burly, incredibly concentrated Pavie Macquin that has a lively, vibrant mouthfeel, ripe, building, substantial tannins, and a gorgeous finish. Based on the normal 80% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon, it's a riveting, powerful 2022 that's built for the cellar. Hide bottles for a solid decade if you can, and it will have 40 years of overall longevity."

James Suckling: "Aromas of blueberries and blackberries with walnuts and hints of tar that follow through to a medium to full body with plush and velvety tannins and a lovely, caressing mouthfeel. It closes up at the end. Extremely long, pure and structured. Classic 72% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot and 2% petit verdot. From organically grown grapes. Give this at least until after 2030 to open and come around."

James Suckling: "Very complex aromas of pears, persimmons, honey and cooked apples. Mineral undertones. Always subtle and multidimensional. Full-bodied with a tight and dense middle palate that gives a superb mouthfeel. It's lively and flavorful at the end but in a reserved way. Just a hint of bitter lemon and lilac. I really want to drink this, but give it three or four years to reach the right place."

Jeb Dunnuck: "Blackcurrants, graphite, crushed stone, and liquid violet notes all emerge from the 2022 Château Saint-Pierre (Saint-Julien), another deeply colored, powerful, full-bodied Saint-Julien. Coming from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it has a layered, elegant mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and a great finish. It's going to stand with the truly greats from not only this terroir but the entire Médoc."

James Suckling: "What fantastic aromas of dark fruits. At the same time, there’s a savory character of mushrooms, lead pencil, violets, bark and wet earth that always remains complex and sophisticated. It's medium- to full-bodied with very tight and fine tannins that run the full length of the wine. Wonderful polish and refinement. Classy. A bottle for your cellar. 50% cabernet franc, 45% merlot and 5% cabernet sauvignon. Best after 2030."

Jeb Dunnuck: "The second wine of both Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion, the 2022 La Clarte De Haut-Brion Blanc checks in as a blend of 53.7% Sauvignon and 46.3% Sémillon brought up in barrel. Grilled citrus, white flowers, and a beautiful sense of stony minerality all emerge from this beauty, and it's medium-bodied, has a fresh, focused, yet concentrated mouthfeel, as well as bright acidity. It's rich and textured, yet remarkably fresh and focused. This hit 14% with a pH of 3.29. It’s great today and will be great in 8-10 years as well."

Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2022 Château Valandraud is sensational, offering a massive array of blackcurrants, chocolate, smoked tobacco, baking spices, and truffly earth. Full-bodied and deeply layered, it has a velvety mouthfeel, polished tannins, and remarkable purity. It reminds me of a hypothetical blend of the 2020 and 2019. Based on 85% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, it was vinified and aged 22 months in new barrels. It will evolve gracefully for 20-30 years."

Tiefgründiges blaubeeriges Bouquet, Flieder- und Veilchenparfüm, dahinter erkalteter Earl-Grey-Tee, schwarzer tasmanischer Bergpfeffer und Holundergelee. Am sublimen Gaumen mit seidiger Textur, tänzerischer Rasse, die unglaublichen Halt und Straffheit verleiht, tiefschürfender Mineralik und muskulösem Körper. Im konzentrierten, nicht enden wollenden Finale Wildkirsche, dunkles Edelholz – lebt von seiner Finesse, eine Delikatesse mit royaler Adstringenz. Wird in seiner perfekten Trinkreife die Höchstnote erreichen. „Es ist kein Petit Verdot im Blend, da genügend Konzentration vorhanden" fasst Direktor Philippe Bascaules zusammen. Setzt sich dieses Jahr zu Recht die Krone in der Appellation Margaux auf!"

„In der Nase frischer weißer Pfirsich, Apfel und grüne Birne. Am Gaumen ein Schmeichler vor dem Herrn. Schöne Viskosität und Fluss trotz lediglich 12,5% Alkohol. Weißer Bergpfirsich, Birne, Apfel, ganz dezente Zitrone, absolut kein Holz, woher auch? Sehr seidig und saftig, mit feinster, sehr dezenter Säure und Terroirnoten. Ein wunderschöner, extrem harmonischer Chardonnay, der einfach nur Spaß macht und auch diejenigen überzeugen wird, die Chablis kritisch gegenüberstehen.“ Die Familienparzelle Les Veuillots umfasst 1,7 Hektar und hat mit bis zu beeindruckenden 12.000 Pflanzen pro Hektar die höchste Pflanzdichte der gesamten Region. Die Reben stehen auf gen Süden geneigten, steinigen Mergel-Kalkstein Böden. Durchschnittlich ergeben sich hieraus 10.000 Flaschen pro Jahr, in der Spitze 16.000 Flaschen. Normalerweise vinifiziert Jeremy einen Wein pro Parzelle, klassische Lagenweine, alle per Hand gelesen. In der Parzelle LES VEUILLOTS jedoch vinifiziert er aus dem gleichen Ausgangsmaterial drei verschiedene Weine, die sich durch unterschiedlichen Ausbau differenzieren. Nach dem Absetzen wurden die Weine vinifiziert und in drei verschiedenen Behältern gereift. Ziel des unterschiedlichen Ausbaus ist es, den Einfluss des Behältnisses während der Weinbereitung zu zeigen, den Weinen unterschiedliche Stilistiken zu verleihen. Die Cuvee OVOIDE reift in eiförmigen Betontanks, die in Handarbeit gefertigt werden und lediglich aus Wasser, Tonzement, Sand von der Loire und Kies aus dem Burgund bestehen. Ihre eiförmige Form sowie ihre unterschiedlichen Kapazitäten von 9,5 hL und 19 hL werden nach den Regeln des Goldenen Schnitts berechnet und begünstigen so die Entstehung von Brownschen Bewegungen. Diese Bewegungen ermöglichen eine natürliche und kontinuierliche Durchmischung der Hefe ohne menschliches Zutun. Beton ermöglicht eine längere Reifezeit auf der Hefe. Dadurch zeigen sich die daraus resultierenden Weine aromatischer und viskoser, bieten zudem Frische sowie ausgeprägte Mineralität.

Der Riesling Ried Kellerberg 2022 besticht durch intensive Aromen von Stein und grüner Sevilla-Orange. Auf dem konzentrierten, herzhaft-zitronigen Gaumen treffen subtile, saftige weiße Pfirsiche auf eine kristallklare Reinheit. Diese beeindruckende Weinschöpfung zeichnet sich durch eine faszinierende Präzision und feines aromatisches Finish aus. Noten von rosa Grapefruit, Bergkräutern, Lakritze und weißer Schokolade runden das Bild ab. Der Wein endet mit einem unglaublich fokussierten und salzigen Nachklang.

Cheval des Andes 2022 Ein faszinierendes Meisterwerk, das durch seine beeindruckende Komplexität und Eleganz besticht. In der Nase entfaltet sich ein vielschichtiges Bouquet aus schwarzen Herzkirschen, reifen Pflaumen und einem Hauch von Feigen, während zarte Noten von Tabak, Nougat und Orangenzesten für zusätzliche Tiefe sorgen. Der Gaumen wird von einer perfekten Balance aus Kraft und Finesse verwöhnt, wobei saftige Brombeeren und Himbeeren von einem feinen Säurebogen umrahmt werden. Die samtigen, präzisen Tannine verleihen dem Wein eine straffe Struktur, die niemals ins Aufdringliche kippt. Im bemerkenswert langen Abgang offenbaren sich feine Gewürznuancen und florale Anklänge, die diesen außergewöhnlichen Wein zu einem wahrhaft fesselnden Genusserlebnis machen.
