Chateau Haut Marbuzet - einmal getrunken ist Haut Marbuzet leicht wieder zu erkennen, so ungewöhnlich ist dessen Stil für Saint-Estèphe. Denn der Merlot-Anteil des Haut Marbuzet liegt bei rund 40%, das ist für diese Gegend enorm hoch. Cabernet Sauvignon ist mit 50% und Cabernet Franc mit 10% vertreten. Die Trauben bleiben stets bis zur Vollreife an den Rebstöcken hängen, manchmal sogar bis zur Überreife. Nach der Gärung reifen die Weine ausschließlich in neuen Fässern aus französischer Eiche.

Spiced berries, white pepper, hibiscus and touches of cedar, chocolate and minerals. The highlight is the tannin, both in its dusty quality and huge quantity, delivering structure, polish and precision. Really caressing and long in the finish, which lasts almost a minute. Such a smart buy for the vintage. Drink from 2026 and for the next 10 to 15 years."
