Lisa Perrotti-Brown: A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot, and 3% Merlot, the 2002 Dominus has a deep garnet color, with a slight hint of brick. It is a little closed and broody to begin, needing some convincing to encourage notes of tar, black truffles, tobacco leaf, and cast-iron pan, leading to a core of plum pudding, blackberry preserves, and blackcurrant jam, plus a waft of charcuterie. The full-bodied palate is packed with youthful blackberry preserves and earthy layers, supported by fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing on a lingering meaty/savory note. So youthful - it still has many years ahead of it!"

Jancis Robinson: Straddles the Napa-Bordeaux horse, with well-ripened, dark cherry fruit and sweet vanillin oak melding with dusty herbs, forest floor, cedar and tobacco notes. Marvelous concentration and depth; firmly tannic, yet also generous. Could be Christian Moueix’s best Dominus."

The Wine Advocate: The 2003 Dominus is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot (14.1% alcohol). Remarkably, it is the 20th vintage for Christian Moueix. Always a Bordeaux-inspired wine with restraint yet substance as well as a textured richness, the 2003 exhibits a deep plum/ruby/purple color, a creamy, opulent texture, no hard edges, and a wonderful sweetness of foresty, black currant and cherry fruit mixed with underbrush and hints of Chinese black tea. Well-proportioned and full-bodied, yet never over-stated or out of balance, this is another beauty from Moueix. Drink it over the next 15+ years."

Jane Anson: Everthing comes together here, and the 2016 is a better vintage at Camensac than the 2010, even though on paper there are similarities in terms of weather. The team has here drawn out a sculpted, savoury personality, a little earthy on the finish but unfussy and welcoming, with ripe raspberry and blackberry fruits, slate, pummice stone, white pepper, pulses of energy and confident tannic hold. 60% new oak. Decanter: The 1995 Dominus is very much cut from the same cloth as the 1994, with a deep bouquet of baked black cherry, cassis, truffle and rich loamy soil, and a full-bodied, powerful and rather old-school palate impression. As in the 1994, there is just a touch of torrefection in the fruit tones here which the Dominus team have worked hard to avoid in more recent vintages, but this is a very compelling wine which certainly does nod towards Libourne."

Weinwisser: Aufhellend mit ziegelroten Reflexen. Intensive Nase, vielschichtig, breit, reife Waldfrüchte, Küchenkräuter, weich und enorm lang. Eine Spur zu viel Säure, die Harmonie des herrlichen Weines störend, leicht über der Genussreife, immer noch erstaunlich intakt."

Weinwisser: Sattes Purpur mit orangen Reflexen. Jod-Torf-Nase, Kräuter, Highland-Malt-Nuancen. Im Gaumen sehr animalisch, eigenwillig, sandige Textur, leichte Bitterkeit im Extrakt. An der Luft zunehmend rosinierend, einem alten Zinfandel nicht unähnlich. Potential und Trinkvergnügen ergäben eigentlich 16/20 Punkte, nur nützt das Potential nichts bei nicht vorhandenem Trinkvergnügen, grüner und krautiger Cabernet Franc."

Seit auf Chateau Troplong Mondot Aymeric de Gironde, ehemaliger Direktor von Chateau Cos d´Estournel, das Ruder übernommen hat, findet hier eine in Bordeaux bis dato wohl einmalige Stilwende statt. Wir blicken zurück in das Jahr 2017, Chateau Troplong Mondot wird von der französischen Versicherungsgruppe Scor übernommen und unmittelbar im Anschluss Aymeric de Gironde als neuer Direktor auserkoren.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown: A blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2005 Dominus is deep garnet in color, with a touch of brick. It needs a lot of shaking to release notes of baked blackcurrants, fruitcake, and blueberry compote, plus hints of baking chocolate, licorice, dried mint, and pencil lead, plus a waft of wood smoke. The concentrated, hedonically styled, full-bodied palate is jam-packed with layers of black and blue fruit preserves, framed by wonderfully ripe, grainy tannins and well-integrated acidity, finishing very long, profound, and shimmery."

Wine Enthusiast: A perfumed, smoky wine, this boasts a firm line of tannins that gives the wine weight and concentration. It's rich and solidly structured while remaining deliciously fruity."

The Wine Advocate: A contemporary classic by which to measure Argentine Malbec, the 2018 As Bravas Malbec is a spectacular wine in every regard. It derives from a 1.7-hectare parcel of ungrafted vines planted in Cordón El Cepillo's colluvial limestone soils and contains 5% co-planted Sémillon. It was fermented in concrete pools with 30% whole clusters and underwent a 23-day maceration before maturing for fully 64 months in a 100-year-old Italian foudre. From the first pour, there is a quietly commanding quality to the nose, which ceaselessly evolves around a dark-fruited core and myriad savory aromas of dried spices, charcoal, ash, licorice, fresh herbs and violets. The palate is seemingly endlessly layered, combining a dense, staining texture with sophisticated understatement and supreme elegance. It culminates with an incredibly long, impactful, concentrated and captivatingly weightless finish, further elongated by a sturdy graphite-laden core and ultra-refined tannins that continuously swell. This is a timeless wine of symphonic balance that should effortlessly deliver over two decades of drinking pleasure."
