94 DECANTER: "This expression of Fourchaume is elegant and delicate, with notes of mirabelle plums, grapefruit, lime zest and hazelnut. The texture is fine and silky, with less power than the Pièce au Comte bottling, but still, there is enough substance to draw the wine to a satisfying conclusion. The grapes are from four parcels in Fourchaume that total 1.5ha; they are lightly crushed and fermented in tank and barrel (10%) then aged nearly 18 months before bottling."

94 DECANTER: "From 1ha of vines more than 50 years old on the upper slope, on the border with Forêts, facing southeast, the Montmains from this cellar stands out for its pronounced aroma of ripe pear and white blossoms with a note of chalky minerality. It's concentrated and powerful, and the balanced acidity drives the wine to an impressive finish. Although approachable now, it will truly begin to open in 10 years. The wine matured for 18 months, partly in tank and partly in cask."

96 THE WINE ADVOCATE: "One of the late bloomers in bottle, as always, is the 2023 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur. The aromatic range is evocative of mirabelle plum, orange peel, fennel and oyster liquor. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and concentrated, with a deep and crystalline core of fruit brimming with energy. Its incisive acidity and saline undertow frame a long, reverberating finish. If Fourchaume is expressive and giving, Valmur is elegantly reserved, and it will demand considerable patience before revealing its cards."
