"The 2015 is really a profound example of Bellevue - a 100% Merlot that has lots of power, replete with rich and spicy plummy fruits. The tannins are unmistakably layered, and this will age exceptionally well and take its time to soften. It goes long on fruit and on grippy acidity, and there is an austerity on the attack that softens into a graphite-led mid-palate. There was still 2% cabernet franc in the vineyard at this point, but it was not used in the blend. A highly enjoyable wine. 60% new oak. Drinking Window 2023 - 2040"

Medium to full-bodied with firm, rounded tannins and vibrant fruit expression lifted by a lovely line of freshness, it finishes on a minerally note."

Chateau Bellevue

Schon die alten Römer erkannten das großartige Terroir auf Chateau Bellevue in St. Emilion. Die sich über das Plateau in östlicher, südlicher und westlicher Richtung erstreckenden Weinberge umfassen ca. 6 Hektar. Diese sind zu 100 % mit Merlot bepflanzt, das Durchschnittsalter beträgt 40 Jahre. Heute gehört das Chateau Familie Pradel de Lavaux, seit 2007 anteilig ebenso der Familie de Bouard de Laforest - Besitzer des benachbarten Spitzenweingutes Chateau Angelus. Hubert de Bouard veranlasste umgehend nach dem Erwerb eine großzügige Renovierung des Schlosses, der darunterliegenden Kalksteinhöhlen und des Kellers und investierte in die Weinberge, die zu 100% biologisch bewirtschaftet werden. Die Lese erfolgt per Hand, die Vinifikation überwacht das Team von Angelus, jährlich werden etwa 20.000 Flaschen produziert. 2012 übernahm Huberts Tochter Stephanie de Bouard die Leitung und im gleichen Jahr wurde Chateau Bellevue in die höchste Klassifikation eines Grand Cru Classé in St. Emilion aufgenommen. Chateau Bellevue verfügt somit nicht nur über grandioses Terroir sondern auch über beste Vinifikations-Voraussetzungen zur Erzeugung erstklassiger, alljährlich hochbewerteter Weine. /217
