Domaine Belargus - Treilles 2020

DECANTER: "This concentrated and powerful 2020 Treilles is richly textured and opulent with honey and butter notes. Great potential to age. The creation of Domaine Belargus in 2018 by Parisian financier Ivan Massonnat has certainly been one of the most exciting developments in the Loire for many years. Massonnat bought Pithon-Paillé, including the famous and spectacular Coteau des Treilles, a substantial parcel in Quarts de Chaume, as well as vines in Savennières adjacent to Roche aux Moines. Belargus only makes Chenin Blanc, mainly dry even in the Quarts de Chaume appellation, although a small amount of sweet Quarts de Chaume is made when conditions allow. I tasted four of their 2020s – all impressive with Quarts and Coteau des Treilles outstanding."
