JAMES SUCKLING: "So much character here, ranging from lemon curd to fresh mangoes to light banoffee. Edgy and dry with a ton of mineral freshness and drive. Long and precise on the finish with ripe, attractive stone fruit. Linear but concentrated. Drink now or hold."

ANTONIO GALLONI: "Resinous, cooling but penetratingly pungent mint and sage practically assault the nose, and “assault” is a equally apt word for this bottling’s trigeminally intense palate impression. It glows, sizzles and cools at one and the same time, its herbal intensity matched by zesty fresh lemon as well as a suffusion of crushed stone. The mouth-shaking finish milks the salivary glands. This took my breath away, and for a moment I thought it might make off with my tongue as well! I am left seconding Kauffmann, who confessed: “I love Pechstein!”"

Langer Nachhall."

WINEADVOCATE: "The 2017 (Forster) Pechstein GG is clear, fine, fresh, deep and flinty on the ripe and concentrated nose with its notes of crushed stones. Lush and round but also piquant and persistently mineral on the elegant and linear palate, this is a ripe and straightforward Pechstein with fine tannins and a long, dry, fresh and salty finish that reveals a crystalline structure and ripe white peach aromas on the aftertaste. Excellent. Still young but a future classic. Tasted in Deidesheim in December 2019."

WINE ENTHUSIAST: "Soft, luscious yellow peach and pear are balanced pertly by fresh grapefruit acidity and a dusty mineral edge here. While dry in style, it's a plump, silken sip accented by hints of bramble and sweet spice that linger on the finish. Enjoy now through 2035."

WINESPECTATOR: "Very vibrant and bone-dry, with an intense tea tree oil streak behind the flavors of lemon and mint. Refreshing minerality adds to the energetic profile, but also imparts a bit of savoriness for more interest. A bit austere on the finish, but should come together nicely. Best from 2022 through 2031."
