The Wine Advocate: "The 2022 Canon has turned out brilliantly in bottle. Unwinding in the glass with aromas of sweet raspberries, wild berries and cherries mingled with hints of violets, pencil shavings, black truffle and rose petals, it's full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a dense, enveloping core of fruit underpinned by a chassis of sweet, suave tannins, concluding with a long, saline finish. This is one of the most muscular, broad-shouldered vintages of Canon in recent years, but it retains every bit of its limestone-driven identity. As I wrote two years ago, this is an estate that is delivering its greatest run of vintages since the superb Post War series that preceded the frosts of 1956, and the 2022 is indeed reminiscent of a modern day version of one of those great years."

Jeb Dunnuck: "An undeniable star in Margaux, the 2022 Château Brane-Cantenac checks in as a blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 1% each Cabernet Franc, Carménère, and Petit Verdot. This deep purple-hued beauty offers up a sensational perfume of darker currants and cassis that gives way to more floral, spicy oak and graphite nuances with air. With flawless overall balance, ripe, velvety tannins, terrific purity, and a great finish, this riveting Brane-Cantenac already offers pleasure, yet I wouldn't be surprised to see this firm up with 4-5 years of bottle age, only to reemerge later and drink beautifully for 30+ years. It's one of the truly greats in the appellation, and readers will love to have this beauty in the cellar."

The Wine Advocate: "There was a big frost in 2024, and they could save 50% of their own vineyards with burners; so there were like two different harvests for the 2024 Flor de Pingus. The part that was frosted was riper and ripened faster, so they had to pick those grapes early to avoid too much alcohol because high alcohol interferes too much. They were very precise, and all the lots had 10% new barrels instead of having one lot all in new barrels. There are different lots, and he did a hypothetical blend of what the wine might be, including the press wine. The wine is very primary, clean, expressive and precise. It has a medium-bodied palate with fine tannins with some grip and a chalky feeling. There will be some 78,000 bottles, a lot less than in previous years, all because of the frost."

The Wine Advocate: "The nose of the 2024 Pingus is surprisingly harmonious, floral, perhaps a little more herbal, more subtle and not super showy or in your face, with some toast from the barrels at the core. He saved all the grapes from the frost of April 23-24 using burners. ("The candles and all the stuff cost me 60,000 Euros," explained Sisseck. "It was completely crazy, but we saved Pingus. After that, they installed big burners in the vineyard...) This was the first year when the temperature during the fermentation went up in a couple of vats, as the fermentation is quite stable and always done in the same way and in the same vats; but this time, the fermentations were a little more complicated. The wine is juicy and has fine tannins; it's not a showy vintage, perhaps a little in the style of 2014? There are some 23 or 24 barrels selected for Pingus at the moment, a little less than in 2023."

The Wine Advocate: "Offering up aromas of sweet cherries, berries, spices and new oak, the 2022 Clos l'Eglise is medium to full-bodied, broad and layered, with a velvety attack that segues into a vibrant, rather structured mid-palate, concluding with youthfully firm tannins. Incorporating fully 30% Cabernet Franc this year, this is a strong effort, albeit a touch on the liberally extracted side for such a concentrated vintage."

The Wine Advocate: "Tasted just before bottling, so a sample of the final blend, the 2023 PSI is juicy, ripe and approachable. It is a little showier and headier, despite having similar alcohol to the bottled 2022 (perhaps a tad higher, but not quite reaching 14%), and it feels a little riper, with peachy notes and some decayed flowers. It has abundant tannins and feels like it's in need of some more time in bottle. This is usually the case for PSI: the tannins need time. They are resolved quite quickly, but it does need a bit of time. It should be bottled in May 2025."

James Suckling: "Structured and powerful with chewy and firm tannins with a light vanilla and currant undertone. Full bodied. Juicy and savory. Luscious and intense yet polished. Tension, energy and wonderful length and brightness. Drinkable but needs another three to four years to come around."

The Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Martha's Vineyard boasts gentle eucalyptus and vanilla shadings accenting bolder notes of cassis and black cherries. It's medium to full-bodied and firmly structured, aristocratic even, with a streamlined shape on the palate and a long, silky-textured finish."

James Suckling: "An open and beautiful wine with green-olive and currant aromas and flavors. Some bark and earth, too, together with mushrooms, herbs, crushed stones and pomegranate. Medium to full body with round, creamy tannins and refined finish. Blood orange at the end. Crunchy. So drinkable now, but will age beautifully."

James Suckling: "Plenty of pinot character with strawberry and dried apple and some flint and matchstick, as well as stone. It’s medium- to full-bodied with freshness, a creamy texture and a long, delicious finish. 40% pinot meunier, 30% chardonnay and 30% pinot noir."

Weinwisser: "(65 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 29 % Merlot, 4 % Cabernet Franc, 2 % Petit Verdot): war der erste Jahrgang, in dem bereits 30 % Trauben aus biologisch zertifiziertem Anbau verwendet wurden. Er zeigte sich an dem Tag klassisch, mit feiner Würze nach Zeder und der typisch dunklen Frucht wie Cassis. Er war ein gutes Beispiel für traditionelles Pauillac – bissfest mit deutlichem Fassausbau und markanter Art."

Weinwisser: "Extrem dunkles Violett-Granat, schwarze Reflexe. Dichtes, komplexes Bouquet, viel Edelholznoten, Mahagoni, Teakholz, Trüffel, Korinthen, Rauch, tiefgründig wie ein Latour, von den Grundaromen her eher auf der Terroirseite, dahinter die grossartige, in diesem Jahrgang sehr schwer wirkende, typische Lafite-Süsse zeigend. Im Gaumen grossartig, viel Tanninreichtum mit Gerbstoffen voller Finessen, sehr vielschichtig, alle Fruchtkomponenten im blau- bis schwarzbeerigen Bereich liegend, tolle Länge. Ein klassischer Lafite mit einer bestechenden Geradlinigkeit. Im Stil ein 1985er plus."

Weinwisser: "Dunkles Granat, feiner lila und rubinroter Rand. In der Nase duftiges, wohlig riechendes Cabernet-Pauillac-Bouquet, schwarze Pilze, Ledernoten, Tabak, erstaunlich tiefgründig. Fleischiger Gaumen, reife, stoffige Tannine, Aromatik im Gaumen halb bei den schwarzen Beeren, halb bei den Terroirnoten liegend, Teeraromen und Lakritze im leicht kernigen Finale. Für Liebhaber klassischer, eher artisanaler Weine; einer der besten Duhart-Milon der Geschichte."

Jane Anson: "The deep gravel soils that you find at Grand Puy Lacoste are not ideal for a vintage as hot and dry as 2003, and you do feel the impact of drier fruits, with fig and prune evident along with more generous blackberry and raspberry. Still has a fresh feel on the finish with fennel, eucalyptus and autumnal leaf aromatics. This is gentle and appealing, softer than many vintages but still with personality and hold. Harvest October 15 to 26, 70% new oak."

James Suckling: JAMES SUCKLING:"A dense and rich red with ripe fruit and plenty of muscles. Full body, round and juicy tannins and a flavorful finish. Enjoy the berry, orange peel and cedar undertones in the wine. Best ever? Needs at least four or five years to come together."

Weinwisser: "85 % Merlot, 10 % Cabernet Franc, 5 % Cabernet Sauvignon. 35 hl/ha, Produktion 120'000 Flaschen. Dichtes Purpurgranat mit violettem Rand. Warmes Waldbeerenbouquet, dahinter Holundersaft, duftige Veilchen und Lakritze. Am Gaumen mit seidiger Textur und süssem Extrakt und perfekt stützender Frische. Im aromatischen Finale mit einem vollen Korb von blauen Beeren, Heidelbeergelee und parfümierter Pfeifentabak, ein Best Buy aus Castillon."

Der Chateau Clos Marsalette 2019 präsentiert sich dunkel, reich und einladend. Er entfaltet sich mit intensiven Aromen von Schwarzkirsche, Pflaume, Schokolade und Lakritze. Am Gaumen zeigt er eine saftige Süße, reife Tannine und eine würzige Note. Noten von schwarzen Johannisbeeren, Brombeeren, Tabak und feuchter Erde ergänzen das ausgewogene Geschmacksprofil. Der Wein beeindruckt durch seine Tiefe und Struktur und ist ein hervorragender Begleiter zu vielfältigen Speisen.
