ANTONIO GALLONI: "The 2018 Le Pin Beausoleil is every bit as impressive as it was from barrel. Sweet floral and spice notes perk up a core of red/purplish berry fruit in this very pretty, nuanced Bordeaux Superieur. Bright, saline notes extend the precise finish effortlessly. The blend is 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc. Merlot was affected more by mildew, and that tilts the balance of the wine towards Franc, not a bad thing at all, as the 2018 is a jewel of a wine."

JAMES SUCKLING: " Pretty spice and blackberry aromas with some violet and dark bark, following through to a medium body with very fine tannins and a delicious, succulent, delicate and fruity finish. Drink or hold."

JEB DUNNUCK: "A sleeper in the vintage, the 2018 Château Le Pin Beausoleil comes from a single vineyard of clay and limestone soils and is 50% each of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. It's a medium-bodied, elegant wine that brings plenty of rich red and black fruits as well as notes of tobacco, chocolate, and scorched earth. Nicely concentrated and balanced, it's impressive and has a solid 10-12 years of prime drinking."

WINESPECTATOR: "This red offers up a mix of crushed plum and steeped black currant fruit backed by subtle alder, red tea and dried bay notes. Solid depth through the finish, too. Well done. Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Drink now through 2024. 500 cases made. "
