JAMES SUCKLING: "This is very perfumed and beautiful with sandalwood, dark berries and light nutmeg aromas. Full-bodied, yet refined and very balanced with berry and hazelnut undertones. Focused and bright. Drink in 2020."

WINE ENTHUSIAST: "This wine is aromatic, with fine acidity and dusty tannins that are ripe and almost approachable. It is a generous, open wine with plenty of bright fruits and blackberry flavors. The acidity is what lifts the wine at the end."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Composed of 32% Merlot, 48% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Petit Figeac reveals notes of warm cherries, red currant jelly, aniseed and forest floor with touches of wild blueberries and blackberries. Medium-bodied, very finely crafted, elegant and refreshing, it fills the mouth with open-knit red and black fruits, finishing with a velvety texture paving the way."

JANCIS ROBINSON: "35% of the crop; they have to make a second wine because they have quite a lot of young vines. 32% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 48% Cabernet Sauvignon. Yield 41 hl/ha. Picked 21 September – 15 October (for very late Cabernet Franc)! 30% new oak and shorter élevage. Good drive and raciness on the nose. Real sinew and savour. Polished tannins but good Figeac character. A success! Superior ink."

WINE SPECTATOR: "This delivers a delicious bolt of cassis, along with accents of cherry and plum preserves, backed by brambly grip and a roasted apple wood note. Still on the accessible side, and should be a solid drink while the big boys mature. Best from 2019 through 2027. 3,333 cases made. — JM"
