94 WINE ENTHUSIAST: "Although it begins with austerity, its acidity and tannins dominant, the palate opens beyond its youthfulness after a few moments. It becomes dark and powerful, certainly still dryly tannic, but the fruit is generous, and the final taste is of beautiful, ripe fruits."
91 THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Showing maturity in color, the tobacco, earth, truffle and plum aromatics are ready to shine. Medium bodied, silky, soft and mineral driven, this is just starting to drink in its sweet spot, where it should remain for years."
91 ANTONIO GALLONI: "Bright ruby-red. Ripe but youthfully withdrawn nose hints at black fruits, licorice, espresso, violet and minerals. Supple, suave and dense, with a lightness of touch and excellent calcaire energy to the flavors of black fruits, graphite and licorice. Finishes suave, with substantial fine-grained tannins and palate-coating smoothness. Subtle and very easy to drink." Stephen Tanzer - May 2009.
90 WINE SPECTATOR: "Blackberry and mineral aromas follow through to a full body, with velvety tannins and a long, rich finish. Shows impressive structure and character for the vintage. Best after 2012. 5,416 cases made."
90 THE WINEADVOCATE: "Tasted blind at Farr Vintners' 2006 tasting, the 2006 Château Beausejour-Bécot did not fire on all cylinders as I was expecting. The nose is vibrant with dark berry, blackberry and strawberry preserve, well defined and generous with faint smoky notes developing. The palate is medium-bodied, spicy on the entry with moderate weight, fleshy but just attenuating slightly towards the finish. It has an easy-going sensibility that surprised me, though I suspect that with decanting this would gain more substance. Tasted April 2016." Drink: 2016 - 2030 - Neal Martin.
