WINE SPECTATOR: "Very solid, with a dark black fruit profile of currant, blackberry and fig framed by roasted alder wood and backed by bittersweet ganache and mouthwatering briar notes on the long finish. This has the tarry grip of the vintage and should cellar nicely as there's lively acidity behind all the fruit and grip. Best from 2015 through 2030. 3,750 cases made. — JM"

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Earthy, licorice, jammy berries and fresh figs open to a plush, silky, fresh, fennel and blackberry filled wine with a lot of freshness at the moment. Give it a few years of bottle age for things to come together and settle down. This could be the best vintage of Clos de l'Oratoire produced yet!"

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Clos de l'Oratoire comes roaring out of the glass with maturing blackberry pie, Black Forest cake and new leather notes plus wafts of garrigue, bouquet garni and black tea. While there is a lot to love about this full-bodied beauty, it has a firm, chewy texture and the mid-palate fruit is drying slightly, finishing a tad rustic."

WEINWISSER: "95 % Merlot, 5 % Cabernet Franc. 30 hl/ha. Sattes Purpur. Etwas alkoholisches Bouquet, frisch gekochtes Kirschkompott, dezente Geraniolnoten. Im Gaumen süsslich, streng und pfeffrig, sucht noch die Balance."
