  "Disgorged in March 2019 with 4.5 grams per liter dosage, the newly released 2009 Extra Brut Grand Cru 1522 is showing well, wafting from the glass with an incipiently complex bouquet of waxy citrus rind, fresh peach, cassis, dried white flowers and hazelnut paste. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and muscular, with an ample chassis of structuring dry extract, ripe acids and a long, sapid finish. This cuvée derives its name from the year in which the Philipponnat family settled in Ay, and it's intended to foreground the virtues of the wines of that village."
