This was my first taste of the Beaune Grèves from Dugat-Py; he has effortlessly translated his muscular style from Gevrey to the Côte de Beaune. This deeply-coloured wine has ripe plummy fruit with notes of earth and leather and a savoury edge. Dugat-Py farms a third of a hectare in Beaune Grèves; the vines were pruned late and thus less affected by the frost. The result is lovely-less tannic and concentrated than the domaine’s wines from Gevrey, but a perfect expression of Beaune premier cru."

A complex but not especially elegant nose features notes of very fresh red berries, a variety of floral nuances and prominent earth influence. There is impressive volume and richness to the attractively textured flavors that possess fine balance and length on the moderately structured and youthfully austere finale. Good quality here."
