Clos de Tart Grand Cru 2016 Ein außergewöhnlicher Grand Cru, der mit komplexen Aromen von Kirsche, Waldfrüchten und Rosenblättern bezaubert. Der Wein entfaltet sich mit bemerkenswerter Tiefe und intellektueller Vielschichtigkeit am Gaumen, wobei eine Welle aus schwarzen und roten Früchten die Sinne umspült. Die samtigen Tannine verleihen ihm eine perfekt ausbalancierte Struktur, während die beeindruckende Intensität in einem fächerartigen Finale kulminiert. Der Nachhall ist außerordentlich lang und verweilt mit blumigen Noten. Die Verbindung aus Eleganz und Transparenz macht diesen biodynamisch erzeugten Wein zu einem wahrhaft atemberaubenden Erlebnis für Kenner.

The Wine Advocate: A particular success is the début 2019 Monthélie Rouge, a lovely wine that unwinds to reveal notes of raspberries, plums, orange rind, spices and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, it's tightly wound and mineral, with real intensity and cut. I sensed that Loïc was just as taken aback by how well this has turned out as I was. Four barrels were produced."

This is a fine addition to the range, and its upfront charm means that it will offer more immediate drinking than the domaine's Côte de Nuits bottlings."

The Wine Advocate: The 2020 Mercurey 1er Cru Les Croichots Blanc is another best-ever from Lorenzon in this vintage. Exhibiting aromas of crisp Anjou pear, beeswax, freshly baked bread and fresh hazelnuts, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless, with racy acids, striking intensity and a long, saline finish. This is often one of the more outgoing, demonstrative wines in the range, but with the 2020 vintage, Lorenzon has attained a new level of refinement and elegance."

Clos de Tart Grand Cru 2018 Ein wahrhaft majestätischer Wein, der die Überlegenheit großartiger Terroirs und reifer Reben unter Beweis stellt. In der Nase eröffnet sich ein faszinierendes Bouquet aus wilden Blumen, schwarzen Kirschen und Pflaumenkonfit, ergänzt durch feine Gewürznoten und subtile Röstaromen. Am Gaumen präsentiert sich der Grand Cru mit beeindruckender Dichte und kraftvoller, jedoch eleganter Struktur. Die fein ziselierten Tannine harmonieren perfekt mit der natürlichen Säure, während Schichten von dunklen Beerenfrüchten, weißem Pfeffer und Teeblättern den langanhaltenden Abgang prägen. Ein komplexer, vielschichtiger Wein von außergewöhnlicher Ausgewogenheit und Tiefe.

The Wine Advocate: The 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Narbantons is another success, mingling notes of cherries and plums with hints of spices and mandarin rind. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and round, it's gourmand and generous, with enough powdery tannin to balance out the sucrosity of the ripe vintage."

Decanter: The deep purple/ruby colour of the 2019 and the intense blackberry and cassis fruit aromas speak to the youthful vibrancy of this impressive wine. The tannins are firm but not astringent, and a lively acidity balances the abundant extract. The wine was the first vintage of organic conversion; this and the difficult flowering meant a crop reduced by half. The grapes were picked from 13-17 September; 80% were fermented as whole clusters to produce this memorable wine with a lingering finish. Despite its power, there is still finesse and elegance."

Decanter: Impressive concentration of blackberry and plum fruit, with a strong saline, mineral cast; at this point there is still a bit of reduction as well. On the palate, the wine is tightly wound and seriously tannic, with the concentration to age for decades. An extraordinary wine at the premier cru level. A tiny triangle that touches both Mazis-Chambertin and Ruchottes-Chambertin provides the fruit for this delicious wine. The grapes are planted on stakes ('en echalas') in very little soil, and the fruit is fermented largely as whole-cluster and regularly punched down."

The Wine Advocate: The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle has once again turned out especially well this year. Wafting from the glass with aromas of dark wild berries, licorice, lilac blossom and vine smoke, it's full-bodied, ample and layered, with terrific concentration, lively acids and beautifully refined tannins, concluding with a long, mouthwatering finish."

Decanter: Deep raspberry fruit, with a floral edge, the balance between the rewarding density and fresh acidity ensures that the wine is not heavy at all. Marvellous. Dugat-Py has 3ha of village Gevrey and most of the vines are very old - the average age is 50 years of age, although the oldest is 110. There is a hectare of 80-year-old vines in Les Epointeurs, a half-hectare in Combes de Dessus and a half-hectare in Les Marchais amongst others."

The Wine Advocate: Offering up aromas of cherries, sweet berries, petals, vine smoke and spices, the 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is medium to full-bodied, ample and seamless, its fleshy core of fruit underpinned by sweet tannins and tangy acids. This is a superb effort for what is on paper one of the domaine's "entry level" bottlings."

Decanter: Dugat-Py used almost 90% whole clusters in the fermentation in 2020, but the wine has no rustic edges, and the focus remains on the finesse and depth of the ripe plummy fruit accented with mineral notes plus a hint of violets. The wine is concentrated, complex and long, yet it retains a consummate elegance despite the power. Dugat-Py produces one of the rarest bottlings of Chambertin, but it is certainly worth seeking out. The wine is produced from a tiny 0.05ha plot of vines planted in 1910 near the top of the slope."
