The Monthélie Très Vieilles Vignes from Dugat-Py has a surprisingly deep ruby hue and forward, perfumed cherry and pomegranate fruit aromas. The texture is lively and fresh, with a firm tannic core and good length. The grapes come from a hectare of seventy-year-old vines, which the domaine picked on 17 September just after the rain. After severe sorting, only two barrels were produced."
