„The citrus colored 2016 Nierstein Riesling "ReinSchiefer" has a warm, deep, concentrated, very elegant and dusty/mineral bouquet with flinty and herbal aromas flanking the ripe and refined Riesling aromas. On the palate this is a round, intense and elegant dry Riesling with expressive salinity and mineral grip. This is pure but also long, complex and intensely juicy Riesling with a lot of salty stones in the aftertaste. The 2016 is still young but terribly good and very promising. The grapes are sourced from the crus Hipping, Pettenthal, Ölberg and Schloss Schwabsburg. What a tight and mineral finish that is perfectly intermixed with riper and concentrated fruit flavors."
