"Aged in the castle cellars for almost 10 years and released as a limited edition with a historical label from 1850 to celebrate 770 years of Burg Ravensburg, the 2011 Riesling Husarenkappe 770 Jahre is based on a selection of the oldest (50+ years) vines. The jubilee wine shows a strong golden-yellow color and opens with a deep, intense and complex bouquet with generous tropical stone fruit and grapefruit aromas with delicate minty and herbal as well as caramelly notes. Full-bodied, rich and generous but still precise and with mineral vibrations on the palate, this is an intense and elegant Riesling with mouth-filling richness but also a sustainable mineral structure with salivating salinity. This is an impressive Riesling from the warm Kraichgau district and a very warm vintage. 13% stated alcohol. 2,000 bottles made. Natural cork. Tasted in November 2021."
