WEINWISSER: "Recht dunkles Gelb mit erstem Goldschimmer. Verspieltes, parfümiertes Bouquet, Minze, Zitronenblüten, karamellisierte Orangenschale, ein Hauch Cointreau. Sublimer Gaumen, samtene Textur, elegant und finessenreich. Der grösste und perfekteste Primeur-Suduiraut bislang."
WINESPECTATOR: "A powerfully rendered Sauternes, with apricot, ginger cream, marzipan, creamed peach and melon fruit, featuring a long, heather honey-filled finish. Shows polished edges already, but will need some time to unwind. Best from 2018 through 2030. –JM"
JANCIS ROBINSON: "Spicy nose with some orange peel. Then unctuous texture and marked acidity. Glorious stuff. Lots of energy. Long and youthful. Still youthful."
JAMES SUCKLING: "Expressive fruity nose in this top Sauternes with ripe orange, apricot and pineapple. Candied orange peel, white peach and orange blossom. This Sauternes is elegant and with wonderfully balanced sweetness on the palate. Good structure and length. Vibrant acidity and lots of spice in the excellent finish. Excellent. Drink or hold."
ANTONIO GALLONI: "Bright, pale yellow-gold. Captivating aromas of tropical fruits, vanilla and creme br u lee are complicated by honeyed botrytis. Enters the mouth smooth, balanced and fresh, showing building sweetness and complexity to its pure, rich mango, papaya, ginger and citrus flavors. This large-scaled Sauternes admirably combines power and grace, finishing pure and long. Jean-Rene Martignon, technical director of the AXA-Millesime properties, told me that the grapes were harvested in five successive tries: the first yielded four barrels of wine with very pure botrytis and high acidity, while seven days later a second trie gave more concentrated juice, but both of these passes through the vines went into the estate's second wine, Castelnau de Suduiraut."
THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "So young, and oh so good. With all its layers of fat, sweet, ripe and over ripe tropical fruit, apricot, nectarine, flowers, vanilla, nuts and spice, it's impossible not want a second glass. Especially after tasting its rich, concentrated layers of honey drenched fruits. There is ample freshness in the fruit that keeps this up on its feet and on your palate. Drink now, enjoy it a decade or lay it down for your kids. This is another outstanding vintage for Suduiraut that is not quite as good as the 2011, but it's close."
FALSTAFF: "Helles Gelbgrün. Zartes Bukett, frische Birnenfrucht, dezenter Honigtouch. Kraftvoll, süße gelbe Tropenfrucht, dezenter Säurebogen, wirkt opulent, weißer Pfeffer im Nachhall, wird von Flaschenreife profitieren, gutes Entwicklungspotenzial. Elegant, komplex, sehr lang."
THE WINEADVOCATE: "Pale to medium lemon-gold colored, the 2010 Suduiraut features quite a savory nose with notes of lightly browned toast, salted almonds, nutmeg and cinnamon over a core of crème caramel, pear tart and peach cobbler. The palate is decadently sweet, concentrated and unctuous with soft acidity and a spicy finish."
