"Extrem dunkles Purpur. Während andere Moueix-Pomerols mit intensiver Frucht anfingen, schöpfte dieser im Bouquet barock anmutende Trotanoy seine Aromen eher aus der Tiefe und zeigte Trüffel-, Leder- und dezente Korinthenspuren. Erst im zweiten Nasenansatz kamen Brombeeren und Backpflaumen zum Zug. Er legte nach dem Einschenken permanent zu und ich liess mir gut drei Minuten Zeit, ehe ich ihn in den Gaumen nahm. Dort zeigte er sich erhaben, mächtig, mit hochreifen Tanninen, aber trotzdem mit einer verlangenden Adstringenz. Wer hier nicht warten kann, soll darauf verzichten."

"Composed of 93% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Trotanoy reveals a medium to deep garnet-purple color and comes prancing out of the glass with the most striking black fruit preserves, plum pudding, red currant jelly and blueberry compote notions, followed up by nuances of rose petals, chocolate box, licorice and menthol plus a waft of wild mushrooms. Full-bodied, rich and decadent, it fills the palate with generous perfumed black and blue fruit layers with a seductive frame of velvety tannins and seamless freshness, finishing very long and very minerally."
"Pomerol was a great success in 2015 and this wine is rich, layered and dense. Dark and spicy plum fruits luxuriate on the concentrated palate, with lifted notes and a hint of liniment, while retaining a lovely freshness despite 15% alcohol. It needs a few more years but this will be a stunning Pomerol for the long-term. Trotanoy's vineyards are dominated by clay, red-gravel and a layer of hard, iron-rich soil ‘crasse de fer’.
