JAMES SUCKLING: "Aromas of dried mangoes, lemon rind and cream. Undertones of violets and lavender. Full-bodied and dense with great length. Lovely, fine phenolic tension. Beautiful structure. Amazing length. The tannins are alive. Pure sauvignon blanc. 4,500 bottles made. Drink or hold for many years ahead."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "This is only the second vintage to be produced from what was formerly the La Tour du Pin Figeac vineyard, just across the road from Cheval Blanc. Produced from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, it was aged for 20 months in 50% new oak, one-third demi-muids and two-thirds larger barrels. The 2015 Le Petit Cheval Blanc opens slowly to reveal delicate white peaches, honeysuckle, mandarin peel and yuzu zest notes with touches of blanched almonds, baking bread and fresh hay. Medium-bodied with a compelling quiet intensity in the mouth and electric line of refreshing acidity, it has a lovely silkiness to the texture and very long, savory finish. 4,000 bottles were made."

JANCIS ROBINSON: "There’s more of a spicy nose than on their 2014, with sweet creaminess and a riper fruit character. The structure is a magic trick – no heat at all on the finish, with a perfectly clean and refreshing crispness. The texture has definite thickness, but there is no sacrifice to the subtlety of the flavour. It may not age quite so well as the 2015, but it is delicious to drink now."
