Der Chateau Branas Grand Poujeaux 2020 betört durch seine opulente und zugleich harmonisch ausbalancierte Art. Aromen von Brombeerkonfitüre, Schokolade, Lakritze, Espresso und dunklen Gewürzen entfalten sich im Glas. Seine lebhaften, aber dennoch weichen Tannine umhüllen die üppigen dunklen Früchte, die bis zum Abgang erhalten bleiben. Dezente Noten von rauchigem Eichenholz und feine Edelholznuancen ergänzen die Komplexität. Dieser kraftvolle Wein bietet intensive schwarze Kirschen, Cassis sowie einen Hauch von Nugat, Mandarine und Minze, begleitet von einem schokoladigen Touch im Nachklang.

Decanter: "Firm but vibrant tannins, this has the softest smokey oak notes that really line the palate and give the plump black fruits a cushion as they travel through to the finish. Well judged and carefully extracted. 60% new oak. New owners (or rather two new investors, Hindrik Gommer and Arjen Pen, alongside original owner Justin Onclin) as of 2019, and extra vineyards with the addition of part of the excellent Granins Grand Poujeaux. I suspect this will be a smoking value, and the quality here is truly something. I like it today yet see no reason it won't evolve for a solid decade."
