  "The dominance of Cabernet Sauvignon in Figeac has really shone through in 2006. It has produced a dark, serious wine, mineral, austere and still very young. But there is weight there; the black berry fruits show over the tannin and the wood and dry core integrate well with this fruit. The finish is surprisingly fresh after all this structure. But the wine does need aging."

  "Tasted at the Château Figeac vertical at the property. The 2006 Figeac is a success for what was a modest Right Bank vintage. The Cabernet Sauvignon is most expressive on the nose at the moment, reserved but nicely defined with pencil lead and light ferrous scents emerging. The palate is medium-bodied with a dash of pepper on the entry. This is youthful but approachable, not long in the mouth, but "cool, calm and collected." This is a fine Figeac destined to give a couple of decade's worth of pleasure."

  "Dunkles Rubingranat, jugendliche Reflexe, violetter Rand. In der Nase feine dunkle Beerenfrucht, ein zarter Hauch von Küchengemüse, mit reifen Weichseln und Kirschen unterlegt. Saftig, präsente, noch etwas fordernde Tannine, frischer Säurekern, rote Waldbeeren im Abgang, feine vegetale Würze im Nachhall."

  "A firm style of Figeac, with an almost austere leaning due to the preponderance of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Better on the nose, with its floral, fresh red berry and earthy leanings, than on the palate. Time could soften the wine, but like many 2006 Right bank wines, it's proobably always going to be a bit stern."
