"The impressive Lafaurie Peyraguey has a light but well-defined, almond-scented nose with a satisfactory level of botrytis. With aeration, hints of pineapple begin to emerge with aromas of vanilla and white peach. The palate is medium-bodied with a very composed, very pure entry and a keen thread of acidity. It shows admirable weight and botrytization, with a gorgeous spicy finish that has impressive persistency. Drink 2015-2035."

Chateau Lafaurie Peyraguey

Chateau Lafaurie Peyraguey muß man gesehen und erlebt haben, ein beeindruckender Bau, eher Festung als Chateau. Die Rebfläche von Chateau Lafaurie Peyraguey ist zu 90% mit Semillon bestockt, der Rest verteilt sich auf Sauvignon Blanc und Muscadelle. 2014 wurde Chateau Lafaurie Peyraguey von dem Schweizer Silvio Denz übernommen, der unter anderem Chateau Faugeres, Montepeloso und Rocheyron oder die Kristallmanufaktur Lalique sein Eigen nennt oder Beteiligungen daran hält. Die Verbindung mit Lalique ist vor allem in dem neu gestalteten Traum-Hotel und Michelin-Sterne geadelten Restaurant auf Chateau Lafaurie Peyraguey sichtbar. Die Weine sind qualitativ in der absoluten Spitze anzusiedeln, lediglich 6000 Kisten bringt das Chateau aus seinen 37 Hektar hervor, sie zählen unter Süßwein-Liebhabern zu den besten des ganzen Sauternes.
