Offering medium-bodied aromas and flavors of red and blue fruits, cedar, and exotic flowers, it offers velvety tannins, terrific overall balance, and outstanding length on the finish. This impressive Margaux will benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for 15-20 years."

Chateau Monbrison

Monbrison ist ein eher unbekanntes Weingut in der Appellation Margaux. Vor kurzem, das heißt im Jahr 2012, wurde der Keller auf Chateau Monbrison komplett renoviert. Die 21 Hektar Weinberge von Chateau Monbrison sind bepflanzt mit 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc und 5% Petit Verdot. Über die Jahre stieg der Anteil an Cabernet Sauvignon, während der Merlot weniger wurde. Chateau Monbrison verfügt über einige sehr alte Reben. Sie wurden 1963 gepflanzt und ergeben heute wunderbar konzentrierte Weine. Sie reifen bis zu 18 Monate in Barriques, von denen Jahr für Jahr 40% bis 50% erneuert werden.
