  "Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, breiterer Wasserrand. Attraktive Herzkirschenfrucht, zart nach Mandarinenzesten, floraler Touch, zart nach Minze, im Moment sehr verschlossen. Saftig, hochelegant, feine Extraktsüße, seidiges, aber kernig-festes Tannin, zart nach Schoko und Nougat, wirkt leichtfüßig, verfügt über eine ungemeine Länge, dennoch sollte man diesem großen Wein noch etwas Zeit geben, um ihn voll auskosten zu können. Wegsperren!!!"

  "Dunkles Violett-Schwarz, fein aufhellender Rand. Grosses, beeindruckendes Nasenbild, deutliche Palisander- und Teakholznoten, schwarze Beeren, Trüffelspuren, Kandissüsse, im Ansatz fast parfümiert wirkend. Feiner, delikater Gaumen, hoch reife und dicht gegliederte Tannine, perfekte Adstringenz, noble Ausstrahlung. Vielleicht der beste bis anhin produzierte Ornellaia."

  "65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc. Quite a lot of crop thinning early July, especially for the Merlot. Harvest early Sept to 5 Oct. Part fermented in wooden fermentors, part in tank. Transferred to barrel for malo (70% new). 18 months in barrel, blended after 12. Not very expressive at first but opens up to a light herbal note and plenty of savoury black olives and a slight touch of beef extract and cedar, then coffee later and some undergrowth. Highly complex. Deliciously dry tannins at first taste. Beautifully fresh. Powder fine."
