"As with its next door neighbour, this benefits from limestone soils in what is a late-onset botrytis vintage for the sweet wines of Bordeaux. It means it has some fresh, fine, blooming acids, just scraping through the mid-palate and balanced by gorgeous notes of candied ginger, white flowers, honeysuckle, jasmine and a seam of freshness. It really grows on me, and has great persistency. Drinking Window 2020 - 2036"

Chateau Doisy Daene

Die Geschichte von Chateau Château Doisy Daëne, einem „Deuxième Cru Classé“ reicht bis in das 17. Jahrhundert zurück. Es liegt in der Gemeinde Barsac im Bordeaux, wird aber als typischer Sauternes vermarktet. Der Ruhm des Weingutes nahm durch die Übernahme von dem 2016 leider viel zu früh verstorbenen Professor und weltweit gefragten Weinbau Berater Denis Dubourdieu unaufhaltsam zu. Er führte zusammen mit seiner Frau noch weitere eigene namhafte Chateaux wie Clos Floridene, Chateau Reynon, Chateau Cantegril und Chateau Haura zu großem Erfolg. Auf ca. 16 ha kalkhaltigen Böden stehen die teils bis zu 50 Jahre alten Reben aufgeteilt in 87% Semillon, 12% Sauvignon Blanc nebst etwas Muscadelle, die biodynamisch, ohne Pestizide und von Hand aufwändig gehegt werden. Auf Doisy- Daene werden drei Weine produziert, der Süsswein „Chateau Doisy- Daene Barsac“, „Chateau Doisy- Daene Grand Vin Sec“, ein trockener weißer Bordeaux, zudem in großen Jahrgängen der Süsswein- Cuvée „L’Extravagant de Doisy- Daene“. Die Reifung erfolgt 10 Monate lang in jährlich neuen Eichenfässern und anschließend weitere 9 Monate in Edelstahltanks.
