Chateau Clerc Milon Rothschild 2006

WEINWISSER: WEINWISSER:"Eigentlich hatte ich gar keine Lust, auch noch am Nachmittag Wein zu trinken. Ich war seit fast einer Woche im Bordelais unterwegs und da gab es Proben und am Mittag Wein und am Abend wieder. Anstatt einen Kaffee in der Nachmittagspause zu bestellen, orderte ein Reiseteilnehmer den 2006 Château Clerc Milon und lud mich zu einem Glas ein. Anstandshalber setzte ich mich. Dann brachte der Kellner kleine Gläser und die georderte Flasche. Die Farbe war unglaublich dunkel. Die Nase haute mich fast um. Selten habe ich seit dem Mouton 1986 so viel konzentriertes Cassis und Brombeeren in der Nase erlebt. Im Gaumen extrem konzentriert und doch nicht unnahbar. Die Tannine haben sogar einen gewissen Jugendcharme. Ein sagenhafter ClercMilon mit vielen MoutonReflektionen. Zu der Degustationsnotiz machte ich mir noch einen Schlussvermerk: Kaufen!"

THE WINE ADVOCATE: THE WINEADVOCATE:"Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London.The 2006 Château Clerc-Milon has a very respectable bouquet: red fruit rather than black, laced with tobacco, woodland and dried herbs aromas, quite Saint Julien-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet, succulent opening: blackberry and raspberry fruit laced with salt and a dash of white pepper that leave the mouth tingling on the Merlot-driven finish. Tasted January 2016."

JAMES SUCKLING: JAMES SUCKLING:"Aromas of currants and dark berries with hints of minerals. Full body with super-integrated tannins and a slightly austere and intense tannin backbone. But it’s pretty and attractive. Drink or hold."

WINE ENTHUSIAST: WINE ENTHUSIAST:"Rounded, relatively soft wine, but one that shows balance. Sweet fruit plays with black currant acidity, giving density, even if the tannins are lightweight. Clerc-Milon, made by the team that also produces Mouton-Rothschild, has become a delicious Pauillac."
