Chateau Grand Mayne

Philippe de Rothschild liebte den Grand Mayne. Der 1987 verstorbene Baron hatte mit dem 1955er Grand Mayne ein so tolles Weinerlebnis in einem Restaurant, dass er dem damaligen Besitzer anbot, einige Kisten durch Tausch im Verhältnis 1:1 mit 1955 Mouton Rothschild zu erwerben. Nicht schlecht, oder? Seit 1934 gehört Chateau Grand Mayne mit seinen 21 Hektar Weinbergen der Familie Nony. Die Cuvée entspricht mit 76% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc und 11% Cabernet Sauvignon dem klassischem Schnittmuster St. Emilions. Grand Mayne produziert mithilfe von Michel Rolland beständig sehr gute Weine, die in Spitzenjahren enorm dicht, konzentriert und früh zugänglich sind. Dabei ist das Preisniveau beachtenswert fair geblieben. Haben Sie Grand Mayne auch in Zukunft im Blick, es ist eines der aufstrebenden Châteaux in St. Emilion.
