James Suckling: "Bright, with crushed-stone and floral character on the nose. Medium body with a firm core, expanding through the palate. Vivid and bright. Lots of good energy. Crushed-stone and lightly chalky character at the end. Needs two or three years to come around."

Decanter: "Purity, precision and energy here, fresh and juicy and full of life on the palate with creamy-edged ripe, red fruits. Lovely power, with a clear Pauillac-like tannic structure but mouthfeel that is silky and smooth. A fresh mineral finish leaves the palate nicely cooled. A top buy."

Falstaff: "Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Attraktive schwarze Beerenfrucht, ein Hauch von Herzkirschen, tabakig, Nuancen von Edelholz. Mittlerer Körper, rotbeeriger Touch, frisch und lebendig, reife Tannine, mineralisch und sehr gut anhaftend, trinkfreudiger Stil mit langem Nachhall."

Weinwisser: "47 % Merlot, 36 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 16 % Cabernet Franc, 1 % Petit Verdot. Purpur mit rubinroten Reflexen. Eine volle Ladung schwarzer Johannisbeeren, dahinter viel Veilchen und Rosenholz. Am fülligen Gaumen mit engmaschigem Körper, nerviger Rasse und softer Textur. Im gebündelten Finale Pflaumenhaut, Wacholder und zarte Adstringenz."

Jeb Dunnuck: "Lots of black cherries, currants, ripe tobacco, and cedar notes emerge from the 2019 Château Potensac, a medium-bodied, concentrated, beautifully pure, elegant Médoc that's well worth seeking out. It's going to continue to drink nicely for 10-15 years."

The Wine Cellar Insider: "Medium-bodied, fresh, lively, fresh and vibrant, the wine is almost ready to go with its blast of tobacco leaf, currants, spice and touch of mint leaf on the nose and palate. The wine was produced from blending 47% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. Drink from 2024-2038."

The Wine Advocate: "Always a dependable bottling, the 2019 Potensac opens in the glass with aromas of dark berries, cherries and pencil shavings. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and nicely concentrated, with lively acids and powdery tannins, the vintage has made for an unusually polished Potensac that will offer a broad drinking window."
