  Everthing comes together here, and the 2016 is a better vintage at Camensac than the 2010, even though on paper there are similarities in terms of weather. The team has here drawn out a sculpted, savoury personality, a little earthy on the finish but unfussy and welcoming, with ripe raspberry and blackberry fruits, slate, pummice stone, white pepper, pulses of energy and confident tannic hold. 60% new oak.   A prototypical Médoc wine with very good depth and beautiful harmony. I love the long, moderately dry and savory finish that pulls your hand instinctively back to the glass. A blend of 50 per cent cabernet sauvignon and 50 per cent merlot. Drink or hold."

  The 2016 Camensac has turned out brilliantly, revealing aromas of dark berries, violets, rose petals, baking chocolate and cherries. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's a layered, impressively concentrated wine with lively acids and a perfumed finish. I'm sure Camensac will hit higher highs in the future, but for now, this is a benchmark vintage for the estate."

  Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, dezente Randaufhellung, schwarze Waldbeerfrucht, reife Herzkirschen, tabakige Würze. Mittlerer Körper, Brombeeren, präsente Tannine, zart blättrig-erdiger Touch im Abgang, dunkler Nougat im Nachhall."

  A lovely Camensac full of plush, sculpted tannins and a ripple of cassis fruit. This closes down a little on the finish; maybe the fruit isn't quite pushing through the entire length of the wine and could do with being a little denser, but the tarry edge to the oak gives a sense of ambition and there is plenty to enjoy here."
