THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "The intense perfume is filled with minerality, black cherry, coca powder, espresso, licorice and truffles, The concentrated, powerful, full bodied, rich wine offers depth and length, ending in a polished blackberry and cherry filled finish."

DECANTER: "A high quality combination of Cabernet Franc and Merlot character here, well held together and showing good freshness. It's a generous expression of St-Émilion from the limestone plateau, but is just a little austere on the finish. Will clearly age well."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "A strong effort, the 2008 was made from tiny yields of 28.5 hectoliters per hectare, and attained 14% natural alcohol. It reveals sweet licorice, black currant and blackberry fruit notes intermixed with truffle and asphalt characteristics in its pure, rich, opulent, full-bodied personality. One of the finest St.-Emilions of the vintage, it is far more accessible than the 2010 and should continue to drink well for 15-20 years."

WINE ENTHUSIAST: "Big, ripe and rich, with smoky bacon flavors as well as sweet tannins. The wine feels generous, the tannins cushioned."
