JAMES SUCKLING: "Darker, more brambly fruits on offer here. This has impressive depth and detail with a rich chocolate and dark-plum, smooth but powerful palate. Immaculate wine. Try from 2022."

JEB DUNNUCK: "Coming from the upper plateau (limestone) as well as the slopes (clay) of the appellation, the 2015 Château De Pressac checks in as a blend of 70% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere and Malbec. It has a terrific freshness and purity, as well as rich aromas and flavors of crème de cassis, candle wax, graphite, and violets. With full-bodied richness, gorgeous purity, polished tannin, and a silky texture, drink it over the coming 15-20 years."

FALSTAFF: "Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung, feine Kräuterwürze, dunkle Beerenfrucht, zarte blumige Akzente, zarter Nougat. Saftig, sehr elegant, feine Tannine, reife Kirschen, extraktsüßer Nachhall, feine Würze."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Soft, fresh and silky, this is sweet, elegant, fruity and medium bodied. You find earthy, pure refined, red fruits with a finish that feels as good as it tastes, with all its red berries, spice, earth, smoke and cherries."

DECANTER: "One of the few St-Émilion estates to use all five varieties, with a full third of them grown on terraces cut into the limestone hills. This is an excellent wine, well structured, spicy, and tightly packed with black fruits, closing down in a way that 2005 did and 2009 didn't. Lots of structure. Five years minimum to really soften up."
