  • Jeb Dunnuck

"The 2022 Château Fleur Cardinale is a blend of 78% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, vinified with a cold pre-fermentation maceration and raised for 12-14 months in 72% new French oak, 18% one-year-old barrels, 7% large foudres, and 3% amphora. It's a full-bodied, layered Saint-Émilion exhibiting dark berries, graphite, crushed stone, and truffly earth-like nuances on the nose. This ripe, yet flawlessly balanced Saint-Emilion has moderate acidity, silky tannins, and a seamless, polished texture. A slightly modern-styled expression, it’s nevertheless lush, opulent, and utterly compelling, showing both depth and finesse."

  • James Suckling

"Spiced cherries, cedar, white pepper and dark mushrooms on the nose. Almost full-bodied on the palate, with ripe, dusty, caressing tannins that are evenly packed. Juicy, long and complete. Really well balanced and already appealing, but better after 2026."

  • Falstaff

"Deep dark ruby garnet colour with inky, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate brightening on the rim. Restrained, fine noble oak nuances, black forest berries, dark cherries, tobacco savouriness in the background. Complex, sweet cherries, ripe plums, fine acidity, dark nougat, lingers long, certain ageing potential."

  • The Wine Cellar Insider

"Luscious layers of chocolate-drenched plums, black cherries, licorice, espresso, spice, and smoke are all over your palate here. This hedonistic expression is at its best here, with lift, length, and a bite of chalk in the finish. The blend is 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. All that extra Cabernet really makes a difference adding more freshness, complexity, and individuality here. In fact, I would like to some in the vineyard over the years. Drink from 2026-2042."

  • Vinum

"Komplex, feinduftig, Koriandersamen, florale Noten, Petersilie, dahinter Johannisbeeren, Kirschen, mineralisch unterlegt, ein Gedicht; druckvoller Gaumen, knackig, frisch, hochwertige Tannine, viel Spannung und eine grosse Länge, salzig im Abgang. Hervorragend!"

  • Jancis Robinson

"These guys know how to combine intensity and lift, and here they capture the exuberance and exoticism of the spice and fruit character of 2022 wiyhout going overboard. This is big but has enjoyable floral character and chalky tannins, needs some time in bottle to soften, but there is juice and punch."

  • Lisa Perrotti-Brown

"The grand vin from the Decosters is a blend of 76% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, matured mostly in new French oak barrels, with some use of older oak, foudre s and amphorae. A rather restrained, fragrant and dusty nose to this cuvée, the delicately dried summer berry fruits wrapped in scented sandalwood, with touches of black peppercorn, juniper and mint. The style on the palate shows not only polish but a rare sense of harmony, continuing in the middle with delicate layers of toasted red cherry and cedar. An attractive St Emilion with good cellaring potential. The alcohol on the label is 14.5%."

  • Wine Enthusiast

"The wine boasts ripe black fruits, whose tannins have richness. The wine's density comes from the Merlot in the blend, which is being partly aged in amphoras."
