Opulent and delicious with lots of green mango and pineapple aromas and flavors. Smoked cream and green apples. Showing salty, briny character, it’s dense but not heavy, flavorful and very long. Pear-drop candy at the end. Pure sauvignon blanc, as always. Rich yet lively and wonderful. Feels like a great Montrachet. One for the cellar. 8,000 bottles made. You just want to drink it. Drink or hold."

Lemon chiffon, lawn grass, pears, vanilla, white peach, and tangerine skin nuances form the core of this wine. The wine is forward, sweet, creamy, and pure, with a buttery accent on the long, fruit-packed, fresh, vibrant backend. The wine will be a pleasure to enjoy on release and over the following decade or longer. The wine is produced from 100% Sauvignon Blanc.13.4% ABV. 3.18 pH. Yields were only 14 hectoliters per hectare, so not much of this wine was made. If you are a fan, act quickly. This is the white wine of the vintage! Drink from 2024-2037."

Harvested from the 18th of August, the 2022 Château Margaux Pavillon Blanc has a classic Margaux vibrancy and crisp style that belies the warmth and sunny nature of the vintage. Gorgeous citrus, crushed stone, mint, and sappy, floral nuances all define the aromatics, and it’s medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a pure, layered, seamless mouthfeel, bright acidity (pH 3.10), and a great finish. Give it a few years and enjoy over the following decade."

Grip and tension, this is not quite at the switchback-acidity levels of 2021, but there is a beautifully lilting salinity here, citrus, mango and pear, soft waves of white pepper, touch of mint leaf, steely finish, a great quality white in the vintage. If you'd like a dash of history with your wine note, it was Bruno Prats who planted the white vines in 1970 as he was manager of Château Margaux at the time. Harvest August 18-23, 14hl/h yield, Philippe Bascaules director."

Crisp green apples, elderflowers, quince, and yellow fruit on the nose - cool but not tropical. Pear and pineapple at first, then a sharp shot of bitter lime tightens the palate, driving a long, precise finish. Salty, with subtle toasted spice. More opulent than 2021, but still unmistakably Pavillon Blanc. A structured outer shell gives an impression of richness, yet it finishes calm and controlled. Bitter orange, lime, and peach linger at the end. Salinity and tension give this a sophisticated edge."

This is a dense wine with richness and a tropical fruit aroma. Comes from the earliest harvest ever for this estate's white grapes. There is a tantalizing grapefruit edge that shows the essence of the wine's Sauvignon Blanc. Drink from 2026."

The 2022 Pavillon Blanc has turned out elegantly, wafting from the glass with aromas of white flowers, boxwood, pear, mango and lemongrass. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and layered, it exhibits good depth at the core, bright acids and an attractively mordant finish. This has tightened up in bottle, to the extent that the warmth of the vintage would likely only be visible in a comparative tasting with a cooler year."

Pale with green flecks. Aromatically intense with citrus and white-fruit notes (the grassy character of Sauvignon absent). Long and linear with refined texture. Vibrant, tense and elegant overall. More than satisfactory in what has proved a difficult year for dry whites."

This is 100% Sauvignon Blanc as always, and represents 50% of the crop, after picking in mid-August, the earliest picking for the whites here. The other 50% was split between a second wine for the first time, and the rest sold in bulk as usual. A beautifully expressive and pure Sauvignon Blanc nose, with delicately bitter citrus fruits, peach skin and smoky matchstick. The palate is broad shouldered, with a soft and supple presence, easy-going and filled with powdery texture, but a very light presence of acidity reflecting the warmth of 2022, and some phenolic grip. It lacks a little form for me, but this is the overarching style of whites in 2022 I feel. This will probably age on those phenolics but I doubt it will tighten up. The alcohol on the label is 13.5%."
