WEINWISSER: "Sehr helles Gelb mit grünlichem Schimmer. Intensives Bouquet mit viel reifem Sauvignon-Blanc-Touch, weisser, fleischiger Pfirsich, Minztöne, helle Röstnoten, vielschichtig und königlich vom Ansatz her. Cremiger Fluss, wiederum eine hoch reife, dichte, cremige Sauvignon-Note zeigend, perfektes Säure-Süsse-Bild, sanft seifig, trinkt sich wie ein ganz grosser Meursault von Coche-Dury, was für beide Weine ein ganz grosses Kompliment sein soll. Seit der weisse Smith kein reinsortiger Sauvignon-Blanc mehr ist, ihm auch kleine Anteile Sauvignon Gris und Sémillon beigegeben werden, wirkt der Wein komplexer und behält auch besser deren Frucht und Primäraromatik. Ein absolut perfekt vinifizierter Weisswein, der beste des Jahrgangs 2006 und über die nächsten zehn Jahre eine absolute Genuss-Sensation, auch wenn die Lebenserwartung geringer sein dürfte als bei den besonders lagerfähigen Weinen der Domaine de Chevalier und von Laville-Haut-Brion und Haut-Brion."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Another gorgeous white Graves from this vintage, this wine offers up notes of honeysuckle, lanolin, sweet citrus, and hints of orange peel as well as quince and white currants. It is medium to full-bodied, with fresh acidity, subtle nuances of smoky oak, and a long finish. It should drink well for 15 or more years."

JAMES SUCKLING: "A nicely developed wine at 8 years old, this has intense guava and lemon with a gently herbal edge, some tropical fruits too, really quite exotic yet regal, some honey and nougat. The palate has richness and ripeness and a fully-formed shape, great width and depth and a sturdy spine of acidity below quite ripe fruit. The finish has a chalky edge, great resolve, it’s ready to drink but there’s time ahead of you prefer a more complex and toasty, savoury style. Drink now."
