JAMES SUCKLING: "Fresh blackcurrant and blackberry leaf on the nose. Tobacco, violets and mocha, too. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, fine-grained tannins. Nicely structured with a deliciously fragrant, leafy quality. Extremely well done. 55% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot and 5% petit verdot. Try from 2024."

DECANTER: "Juicy and layered black fruits here, this is excellent, with real sense of drive forward through the palate and well expressed tannins that have texture and sap running through them. Easy to recommend, and good value. Drinking Window 2023 - 2038"

WEINWISSER: "Dichtes Granat. Ein würziger Duft mit frischem Rosmarin und dominikanischem Tabak, dahinter getrocknete Waldbeeren und Holunder. Am kräftigen Gaumen mit seidiger Textur und mehligem Extrakt. Im aromatischen Finale mit blauen Beeren, Graphit und Cassisdrops. Sehr gut gelungen dieses Jahr!"

JEB DUNNUCK: "Lots of ripe black cherry, plum, and cassis fruit as well as classy oak, vanilla, and floral notes emerge from the 2018 Château Caronnes Ste Gemme. This rich, medium to full-bodied Haut-Médoc packs loads of fruit and has a deep, layered mid-palate and ripe tannins, all making for a superb 2018 that can be drunk today or cellared for 8-10 years."
