FALSTAFF: "Mittleres Rubingranat, zart unterockert, breiter Wasserrand. In der Nase zunächst etwas verhalten, zart nach Dörrzwetschken, ein Hauch von Rosinen, feine Kräuterwürze, Orangenzesten. Am Gaumen stoffig, extraktsüße Frucht, präsente Tannine, mineralische Nuancen, feine Edelholzanklänge, bleibt sehr gut haften, dezenter Wein, sehr feiner Speisenbegleiter, hat noch einiges an Restenergie."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Slightly past fully mature, this elegant, medium bodied, finesse styled wine delivers sweet cherries, smoke, tar, tobacco and forest floor scents. Soft and refined, this lighter vintage requires drinking, as there is not enough stuffing to allow for further development. It was nice seeing this wine after so many years as it was the first vintage of Haut Brion I ever tasted."
