Einer der ganz großen Jahrgänge mit unglaublichen Bewertungen

Wir hatten gerade vor ein paar Tagen ein sensationelles Kalifornien Dinner für die Top 40 Kellermeister aus Südtirol, natürlich im wunderschönen Südtirol, im Restaurant Miil, einem „must go“ für Gourmetfreaks!   Einer der herausragenden Flights waren drei verschiedene Einzellagen 2000 COLGIN. Auf die Idee kamen wir, als wir bei einem Dinner in Los Angeles im vergangenen Jahr mit ANN COLGIN 2000 COLGIN Cariad blind gegen einen 2000er Premier Cru aus Bordeaux hatten. Das Ergebnis war eindeutig, und sprach ohne Wenn und Aber für den COLGIN, da mehr Finesse, weniger Holz, weniger Süße, einfach klassischer und geradliniger. Umso mehr freut es uns, Ihnen nunmehr das 2012 COLGIN ASSORTMENT anbieten zu können. Ein Jahrgang der zu den ganz großen Jahrgängen in Kalifornien zählt, zudem nach der Freigabe noch einige Jahre in unseren Kellern reifen durfte. Was Sie da bereits jetzt in der Flasche erwartet, ist atemberaubend! Das 2012 COLGIN ASSORTMENT bestehend aus je einer Flasche TYCHSON HILL, IX ESTATE PROPRIETARY RED, IX ESTATE SYRAH und CARIAD wurde in der Fachwelt bereits mit Bewertungen geradezu überhäuft. Was über diese Weine veröffentlicht wurde, sollten Sie sich auf der Zunge zergehen lassen. Absolutely spectacular aromatics of spring flowers, blueberry, blackberry and blackcurrant fruit intermixed with creosote, graphite and floral notes are followed by a wine of great depth, elegance, richness and purity. Simply loaded, but with pristine harmony and equilibrium, this is a sensational tour de force and a great tribute to this spectacular hillside site on Pritchard Hill. "A close second (and who knows how they might perform at different times and with different foods) is the 2012 Cariad Proprietary Red Wine, made from grapes grown by David Abreu at his estate vineyards in Napa. This blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 9% Petit Verdot shows notes of burning embers/charcoal, blackberry fruit, licorice and floral notes, followed by a full-bodied, dense, layered wine. It has great purity, wonderfully sweet, integrated tannin, and a voluptuous mouthfeel and finish of close to 50+ seconds. This is a stunner that can be drunk now or cellared for another 25-30 years." 97 JAMES SUCKLING:
"Intense aromas of mushroom, earth and dried flowers follow through to a full body with juicy, rich and ripe tannins and a beautiful austerity. Very contrasty and structured. Balanced and powerful. March 2016 release." 2012 IX ESTATE SYRAH – 98 THE WINEADVOCATE:
"The wine that probably gets ignored, but shouldn’t be, is their small production of 350-400 cases of Syrah from their estate vineyard. The 2012 IX Syrah Estate blew me away, and I’ve said many times that it always tastes as if it’s co-fermented with Viognier, but it is always 100% Syrah. It has a honeysuckle, flowery, almost white/peachy component in the blackberry and meaty aromatics that always throw me off. The wine is aged in small oak, but the oak is concealed by the lavish amount of fruit, glycerin and extract. This is a super-intense, massive, yet elegant and complex Syrah that should drink well for 10-15 years." 98 JAMES SUCKLING:
"This is phenomenal with aromas of walnuts, meat, dark fruits and spices. Full body, soft and silky tannins, and a long finish. This shows subtle and intense character. So succulent and savory.
