Am Gaumen überzeugt der 2011er durch seine beeindruckende Balance sowie einen konzentrierten Extrakt, der von samtigen Tanninen eingerahmt wird und sich in einem wohlstrukturierten Körper mit ausgeprägter Tiefe manifestiert. Die außergewöhnliche Raffinesse des Weins kulminiert in einem gebündelten Finale mit Wildkirscharomen und subtilen Graphitnoten, das die Besonderheit dieses kleinen Juwels aus Pessac-Léognan eindrucksvoll unterstreicht.
Filigranes „pures“ Bouquet mit zarten rauchigen Noten, rote Kirschkonfitüre und Preiselbeersaft, dahinter Sandelholz und Veilchenparfüm. Am mittleren Gaumen mit reifem Extrakt und tiefgründiger Terroirwürze, kakaoartigem Tannin, leicht stützend, besticht durch einfühlsame Balance und beeindruckende Raffinesse. Im gebündelten Finale mit hellem Tabak, Wildkirsche und zarten Graphitnoten. Besonderheit: Guillaume Pouthier (seit 2012 dabei) machte den finalen Blend; der Wein zeigt sein Potenzial und klettert zu Recht eine Note nach oben!"
This has kept its colour and remains a soft plum red, but there is a slight angularity to the tannins which means austerity is the main take-away on the attack. Autumnal raspberry notes come through, and there is a lovely freshness and delicacy overall, but not quite the generosity and grace that you get in this wine today. Drinking Window 2021 - 2032"

This tiny jewel of a property, situated close to La Mission-Haut-Brion and Haut-Brion, has turned out one of the stars of the 2011 vintage. A deep dark ruby/purple color is followed by hints of graphite, charcoal, creme de cassis and Christmas fruitcake. This medium-bodied Pessac-Leognan is gorgeously concentrated with impeccably well-integrated acidity, tannin, alcohol and oak. An authoritatively long finish adds to the class and nobility of this wine. Drink it over the next 15 years."
This delivers a very pure, focused beam of cherry preserves, red currant and loganberry, harnessed through the finish by a twinge of mesquite. Bright and fresh, revealing the cut and depth for mid-term cellaring. Best from 2015 through 2022."
Tight, the wine needed a little coaxing to come around. Medium bodied and fresh, with a sweet, dark, red berry core, there is some dryness to the tannins in the finish that stops the wine from scoring higher. Still, this is nice wine to drink while waiting for the 2009, 2010, 2012 and the 2014 to mature as it made in an open, early drinking style."
