  "Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Haut Brion has a perfumed bouquet with abundant red fruit, sage, sandalwood and black olive scents that just seem to soar from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, beautifully judged acidity and a gentle build in the mouth towards the savory/meaty finish. There is class interwoven into this Haut Brion from start to finish, and the persistence is very impressive. This is just reaching its drinking plateau. Tasted February 2017."

  "Sehr dunkles Granat, lila und violette Reflexe. Recht dichtes Bouquet mit einer gewissen, recht komplexen Aromenfülle im Ansatz, schwarzer Tee, dunkle Pflaumen, Palisandernoten, Teer und viel Brasil-Tabak, tief, dabei momentan etwas trocken, getrocknete Baumnussschalen im Untergrund. Im Gaumen erstaunliche Konzentration, fleischiger Körper, maskuliner als der Mission, was völlig unüblich ist, auf der Zunge eine schwarzbittere, aber Charakter verleihende Extraktnote, im Finale zwar sehr aromatisch, aber auch etwas mild ausklingend. Schwierig mit anderen Jahrgängen zu vergleichen, aber irgendwie kommt man auf kühlere Millésimes, wie beispielsweise den 1994er. Ein langlebiger Haut-Brion, der wohl nie ganz den Finessenerwartungen gerecht werden wird."

  JANCIS ROBINSON: “Deep ruby at the core, with narrow soft rim. Gorgeously fragrant – still with the sweetness of red fruit but also spice and light leafiness, wood spice. Mature aromas with fine fruit underneath. A lovely sweetness that seduces. Mellow, supple and rounded on the palate with wonderful persistence and overall remarkably juicy. Great finesse and very seductive."

A blend of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, and the balance Cabernet Franc, it offers loads of upfront black fruits, tar, asphalt, and tobacco leaf aromas and flavors. With medium-bodied richness, silky tannin, and beautiful balance, it’s drinking nicely today yet has 15-20 years of life ahead of it."

  THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: “Medium/full bodied, with elegance and charm, coupled with softness on the palate. Cigar box, tobacco, dark cherry and smoked earth create the nose. The mouth feel is really fine, with its ripe, polished, silky tannins. Not deep, but ready to drink and more than charming. Compared with La Mission Haut Brion, here, you find more elegance and refinement in the tannins. There is less density, but the palate feel makes up the the difference. There is still some room for improvement here. The wine was made blending 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc."

In der Nase dunkles Beerenkonfit, zart vegetal-tabakig unterlegt, sehr verschlossen, gibt noch nicht viel her, mit Luft etwas Honig und Nougat, mineralische Nuancen. Am Gaumen frisch, komplex, knackige Struktur, etwas spröde, fordernde Tannine, mineralisch, Bitterschokoanklänge, salziges Finish, extraktsüßer Abgang mit einiger Länge."
